Exodus 29:

at twilight.
40 With the one lamb shall be one-tenth of an ephah of flour mixed with one-
fourth of a hin of pressed oil, and one-fourth of a hin of wine as a drink offering.
41 And the other lamb you shall offer at twilight; and you shall offer with it the
grain offering and the drink offering, as in the morning, for a sweet aroma, an
offering made by fire to the Lord.
42 This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door
of the tabernacle of meeting before the Lord, where I will meet you to speak with you.

The Lord's continuous daily offering sanctified the tabernacle by His Glory, and
enabled any man who desired to come near to offer gifts at the door of the
tabernacle of meeting. The korban could not be offered without the tabernacle
and altar being consecrated daily by "The Lord's Offering".[see also Numbers 28]

43 And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and shall be sanctified by My glory.
44 So I will consecrate the tabernacle of meeting and the altar. I will also consecrate both Aaron and his sons to minister to Me as priests.
45 I will dwell among the children of Israel and will be their God.
46 And they shall know that I am the Lord their God, who brought them up out of the
land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them. I am the Lord their God.

Heb 10:4-11 Paul declared its use ended at the cross in terms of God's authorization.

4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. 5 Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says,
“You have not desired sacrifice and offering,
But You have prepared a body for Me;
6 You have not taken pleasure in whole burnt offerings and offerings for sin.
7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come

To do Your will, O God.’”
8 After saying above, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and offerings for sin You have not desired, nor have You taken pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the Law), 9 then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will.” He takes away the first in order to establish the second.

I have not seen a decent essay explaining how long 2,290 days is, for surely that many days have passed since the Romans destroyed Herod’s temple in Jerusalem and the daily sacrifice ceased in 70 AD.

2,290 days is less than seven years.

And yet there is no lack of those who would count days, and weeks into years and try
to make predictions. To me, this is not wise.

I like the story about Daniel eating vegan food and being of good complexion. There is a group of Seventh Day Adventists living in California who live years longer than the average American. They are primarily vegan or if they ate meat and dairy, they ate less animal protein than others. A vegan doctor named Ellsworth Wareham lived to be 104. He was interviewed before he died:

The 1260 years of dark ages was future to Christ's day.
There was also the destruction of Jerusalem - future to Christ's day.

There was an abomination of desolation "sign" given just before Jerusalem was destroyed. And thus all the Christians were spared from it.

The 1290 and 1335 are all tied to the 1260 according to Daniel 12

7 And I heard the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream, as he raised his right hand and his left toward heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever that it would be for a time, times, and half a time; and as soon as they finish smashing the power of the holy people, all these events will be completed. 8 But as for me, I heard but did not understand; so I said, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these events?” 9 And he said, “Go your way, Daniel, for these words will be kept secret and sealed up until the end time. 10 Many will be purged, cleansed, and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand. 11 And from the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 Blessed is the one who is patient and attains to the 1,335 days! 13 But as for you, go your way to the end; then you will rest and rise for your allotted portion at the end of the age.”​
