    THE MILLENNIUM (Rev. 20)

Satan is cast into the bottomless pit for a thousand years while Israel rules the nations of the world under Christ`s authority. He will be released after that time so as to test those upon the earth whether they will follow God or Satan.

`Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven,
having the key to the bottomless pit & a great chain in his hand.
He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil & Satan,
    & bound him for a 1,000 years;
& cast him into the bottomless pit, & shut him up, & set a seal on him,
so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished.
But after these things he must be released for a little while.
    (Rev. 20: 1 – 3)

The nations are also brought under Christ`s judgment when He returns. Those that looked after `His brethren,` the Jews will be able to go into the millennium while the others will be taken away in judgment.

`When the Son of Man comes in His glory, & all the holy angels with Him,
Then He will sit on the throne of His glory.
All the nations will be gathered before Him,
& He will divide His sheep from the goats.`
    (Matt. 25: 31 & 32)

`Assuredly, I say to you (says the Lord),
inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these my brethren,
you did not do it to Me.`
    (Matt. 25: 45)

Those of the nations who did look after Christ`s brethren, the Jews will go into the Millennium, (Matt. 25: 34 & 40) plus those of Israel (Zech. 13: 8 & 9) who receive their Messiah. The martyrs who had not worshipped the beast will be given life again & serve Christ as priests throughout the Millennium.

`And I saw thrones, & they sat on them,
& judgment was committed to them.
And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus & for the word of God,
who had not worshipped the beast or His image,
& had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands.
And they lived & reigned with Christ for a 1,000 years.

But the rest of the dead did not live again until the 1,000 years were finished.
This is the first resurrection. Blessed & holy is he who has part in the first resurrection.
Over such the second death has no power,
but they shall be priests of God & of Christ, & they shall reign with Him a 1,000 years.`
    (Rev. 20: 4 - 6)

    The Millennial Kingdom

After the triumph of the Lord Jesus Christ, & the defeat & disposal of every hostile & evil power, the time has come for the setting up of Christ`s Millennial Kingdom. This will be a wonderful time of blessing & fruitfulness for the nation of Israel & for those who obey Christ`s rule through them.

`Now it shall come to pass in the latter days
that the mountain of the Lord`s house shall be established on the top of the mountains,
& shall be exalted above the hills; & all nations shall flow to it.

Many people shall come & say,
    “Come, & let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob;
He will teach us His ways, & we shall walk in his paths,”
for out of Zion shall go forth the law, & the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.`
    (Isaiah 2: 2 & 3)

Peace & tranquillity will prevail with the absence of wars as people will stop making weapons & make farm tools instead. Rain will come in the right season to produce a good harvest with food & work for everyone. Thus people will live longer. However if there is disobedience then there will be consequences as the rulership is `with the rod of iron.`

`They shall beat their swords into ploughshares,
    & their spears into pruning - hooks;
Nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
neither shall they learn war anymore.`
    (Micah 4: 3)

`I will cause showers to come down in their season;....
then the trees of the field shall yield their fruit,...`
    (Ex. 34: 26 & 27)

There will be many generations of people during this thousand years & even though they have been under God`s blessing the human rebellious carnal will, still desires to have its own way. Thus when Satan is let loose, he deceives the nations who think they can again destroy God`s plan of rulership through Israel. This time God just sends fire from heaven
as a complete judgment upon them.

`Now when the 1,000 years have expired Satan will be released from his prison
& will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth,
Gog & Magog, together them together to battle,
whose number is as the sand of the sea.

They went up on the breadth of the earth
& surrounded the camp of the saints & the beloved city.
And fire came down from God out of heaven & devoured them.
And the devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire & brimstone
where the beast & the false prophet are.
And they will be tormented day & night for ever & ever.
    (Rev. 20: 7 – 10)

    Final Judgments

Here we are shown the most awe-inspiring vision of earth & sky being `rolled up.`

`Then I saw a great white throne & Him who sat on it,
from whose face the earth & the heaven fled away.
And there was found no place for them.`
    (Rev. 20: 11)

Then we see the Lord Jesus Christ enthroned in Judicial Authority. This is the final great judgment where every person will be resurrected to appear before Him. Wealth, nobility, fame or earthly honours will be immaterial.

`And I saw the dead, small & great, standing before God, & books were opened.
And another book was opened, which is the book of life.
And the dead were judged according to their works,
by the things which were written in the books.

The sea gave up the dead, who were in it,
& death & Hades delivered up the dead who were in them.
And they were judged, each one according to his works.`
    (Rev. 20: 12 & 13)

These books contain meticulous, accurate & complete records of every individual.
The `Book of Life,` the only one designated, is the one of supreme importance. Herein are recorded the only exemptions from this judgment. This is the register of the `Church, the Body of Christ,` already redeemed & enthroned in Heaven.

The names of the remaining books are not mentioned; nor need we speculate. However, what is certain, is that all who have rejected the Lord Jesus Christ as personal saviour will be relegated to join Satan in the `Fiery Lake of Eternal Punishment.`

Whoever will be recorded as having never actually heard the Gospel: but, by their works have acknowledged & worshipped God, by virtue of the wonders of His Creation; they will be granted eternal life upon the earth.

`Then death & Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
And anyone not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.`
    (Rev. 20: 14 & 15)

The 1,000 years are spent in heaven are in between the 1st (of the saved) and 2nd (of the lost) resurrection.

    1 Corinthians 6:3
Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? 3 Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life!

The battle of Gog and Magog (Armageddon) takes place after the 2nd resurrection. They (resurrected wicked dead, satan & his minions) attack the NEW Jerusalem (that has descended down from heaven). After that God destroys everything by fire (His strange act of final judgement - Isaiah 28:21-22) ..... and that's the end of all sorrows, sin and death for eternity .... and AMEN!

He then makes everything new and all the saved live in a perfect world with Him. Back to Eden as He originally created perfect ... and for eternity! AMEN!

Has nothing to do with the modern day earthly nation of Israel .... the war is between God and satan, his minions and those who chose to follow satans ways instead of Gods ways.

Yes we, the Body of Christ will judge the world (system) & fallen angels as Paul tells us. And we can see that in the tribulation - both judgments.

As to the resurrections - the first is the resurrection to life. That type of resurrection occurs many times for different people at different times.
The second resurrection is to the second death as God`s word says. (Rev. 20: 6)

The battle of Gog and Magog takes place at the end of the millennium as a final judgment upon those on the earth, who do not obey God.

The New Jerusalem comes down from God to rule over the earth. God`s great kingdom is made new and there is NO evil or any such thing, no battles, etc. (Rev. 21)

Earthly activity always has to do with God`s earthly nation of Israel. God made them and nothing, no one is going to stop Him from fulfilling His purpose for them. God doesn`t make `oopses.`

You're right God does not oops ... mankind does ....

    Have you not heard ....

    Galatians 3:28

    Berean Study Bible
There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

    Acts 10:34
    English Standard Version
So Peter opened his mouth and said: “Truly I understand that God shows no partiality

Yes but mankind`s oopses do not stop God fulfilling His purposes for - the Body of Christ, for Israel and for the nations.

The Body of Christ are called out from Israel and the nations. (Ekklesia, called out, elect)
Israel is called out from the nations. (Ekklesia, called out, elect)
The nations of every tribe, language, tongue, etc.

`Give no offense, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the Church of God.` (1 Cor. 10: 32)

The elect are ALL believers .... and yes .... ALL is fulfilled through Christ ... not through the earthly nation of Israel.

The Israel of God is not an ethnic designation but a spiritual one. God’s covenant people includes all those who put their faith in the true fulfillment of Israel, Jesus our Lord. Together, Jews and Gentiles united to Christ have a common and exalted end. Let us rejoice in our status as the Israel of God and work to break down needless divisions in the body of Christ. God’s people are one Israel in the Savior.

and there is certainly no offense to those in Christ.

    A few more thoughts.

The plagues through the tribulation and the great earthquake that caused the cities of the nations to fall, will cause such great devastation upon the earth that civilization as we know it will cease. No technology, no fuel, no food production, no medical facilities, no businesses of any kind, all will have crumbled, obliterated. There will be only few people upon the earth after the plagues, mass killings and persecutions.

Life in the millennium will have to start from the basics - agriculture and working together in family groups. There will be no more wars, so the weapons will be made into farm implements.

` They shall beat their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nations shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.` (Micah 4: 3)

`They shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit....` (Isa. 65: 21)

People will have to learn to work together to rebuild houses and dwelling places. Then over time some of the cities will be repaired by the generations that follow.

`And they shall rebuild the old ruins, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations.` (Isa. 61: 4)

`They shall build houses and inhabit them; ...` (Isa. 65: 21)

Many people will come to Israel and work for them, as they realise the blessing of the Lord is upon the nation of Israel.

`Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the foreigner shall be your ploughmen and your vine-dressers.` (Isa. 61: 5)

Over time people will live longer as there will be no wars, and life is centred round outdoor healthy living. People will learn of the ways of the Lord from the priests, and thus there will not be so much anxiety and stress.

`No more shall an infant from there live but a few days, nor an old man who has not fulfilled his days; for the child shall die one hundred years old, .....for as the days of a tree so shall be the days of my people, and my elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.

They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth children for trouble; for they shall be the descendants of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them.` (Isa. 66: 22 & 23)
