it's important to understand what a marking on the forehead and/or arm means. To find what this means, we look at the OT scriptures, specifically Deuteronomy 6:8

the OT did not have this man or the number of his name , as this specific man has not yet been revealed

OP..you said something I would like to STOP with "And he causeth all".. did we see the second word there? HE.. I have ...lost.. how can so many know the NUMBER of his name.. yet.. who is he? A beast.. a system.. a number. A number that is NOT 666. The bible was not written in English. No matter HOW we see it when it was written.. before they put all those books or letters in to one book. Some man of GOD wrote down what a GOD said..and it was 600,60,6. Some.. say 600,16,6.. matters not. Each number means something. Not to us.. to us its 666..duh.. I leave it here.

God say it is the number of a man , and " his number is six hundred three score and six"
people often say 666 because it is a that easier than saying six hundred three score and six especially when people who talk about the bible verse it is well known what is being refereed

That's not how books are read. One cannot read the 2nd half of a book and fully understand its meaning, unless the 1st half is read.

This passage is in reference to loving God and keeping his commandments (vs 4-9). The idea of a mark on the hand and the forehead symbolized a person's allegiance. In the case of Deuteronomy 6:8, this allegiance is to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob by keeping the commandments of God close to them.

In the case of Revelation 13, this mark on the hand and forehead symbolizes allegiance to "the beast".

Significant persecution of Christians by Rome started in around 64 AD under Nero. Public persecution makes things like buying and selling in public places difficult for those being persecuted.

False and natural disasters are more severe than in the past , war does not have to be massive military exercises as terrorist activities kill people often mostly innocent people who are not expecting any people trying to kill them , people targeting innocent civilians with buses , airplanes, trucks , suicide bombers , people shooting machine guns into large crowds of innocent people , people walking into churches and schools to murder as many people as they can .

As technology improves human morals are declining at a rapid rate , all over the world it is nothing for people to shoot and kill you on the highway if you accidentally pull in front of them , road rage is rampant all over the world ,hatred in the political realm has skyrocketed through the roof all kinds of sexual immorality has risen, I read that Canada said that sex with your pet is not a crime , people desiring to marry there pets,the list goes on with many more things

Just because you felt you absolutely HAD to compare the OT with the mark of the beast scriptures does Not by any means require that everybody else has to. Yes it can be of help if you do not understand it without reading the OT ,
But those of us who are able to read and properly understand it without the need to compare it with the OT are just Fine without doing so !

The mark of the beast six hundred three score and six was Not , Not in the OT pertaining to a man who will be ruler in those days or in the days of NT saints - but for the Times of the End just prior to Messiah Jesus Returns to earth

Furthermore the mark IS 100% about allegiance to the man who is known as the Man of Lawlessness / Man of Sin as he is the great delusion that God said He will send to the people who rejected Jesus as Lord , so God is sending The Man of Sin who will be such a great deceiver.

That he will convince a modern world society such as today -with billions of people having full access to ALL books of scripture all at once that This Man of Sin will convince billions of people that he is God - not just proclaim he is but people will believe it is actually Jesus return to earth and will follow him believing that he is Christ even though he is not Jesus the Christ

Another thing that is exclusive to this time is the false prophet will bring fire down from heaven on demand , no nero was not able to do that nor anyone else except Elijah the prophet- Gods real prophet

While many people may just scoff at it and just take the mark so they can go on with life thinking nothing of it . Jesus makes it clear do not be deceived , but as many people today do rush rush rush to do whatever needs to be done to continue doing whatever entertainment they seek

Another thing that this mark has exclusively that has never been used before is, that it is God declares whoever accepts the mark will forfeit all chances to spend eternity with Him period.
Because a person who accepts the mark Knowingly accepts/worships that Man of Sin as God as that will be made known to the person who accepts it ,

I hear what you guys are trying to say. Don't lose those glasses you have on. You guys completely miss my point. But read the rest of the verse you quoted, which has not come to pass yet, yes the child was born and for those reasons but the Jews for the most part don't even believe He was the messiah, they rejected Him. They will one day accept him though:
