Who is the Man in the High Castle?

It's a resistance leader in the series and the book.

I believe it also is an allusion to Hitler who had a habit of going away to mountain retreats, in the series Hitler has a castle retreat in the Alps.

I knew it referred to Eva Braun's husband somehow.

is in it's 4th and last season on Amazon prime. Anybody else here watching that online TV show? The series shows an alternate earth where the Nazis got the atom bomb first and won the World War II.

This is the first I've heard of it, but it sounds interesting. I may have to check it out after I'm done watching Criminal Minds and The Good Place. Thanks for the reference, Pavel!

Have seen the first 3 seasons. I'll watch the 4th when all episodes are available.

All the episodes are available. I got only 2 more to go before I've finished the series!

The Good Place.

I've enjoyed the good place but I'm a season behind watching it on Netflix streaming.

I've really got into Community this last summer watching it years after the fact on Netflix DVD.

Lol! Ok. I vaguely remember seeing previews of that series years ago, and I might have to keep that one as a possible candidate on my 'to watch list.' Thanks for that one, too, Pavel!

So I was a bit disappointed in Season 4. I would have rather seen a redemptive ark involving John Smith; I don’t see what makes him less deserving of such a development than Kido. Also, did the actor who played Trade Minister Tagomi die? His disappearance seemed abrupt.

For me, I think Season 3 will remain the highlight.

Not sure on the trade minister. This was a series you had to watch carefully at times because things could slip by you fast, although not as bad as the Wire, or Game of Thrones etc. with their numerous simultaneous plots and sub plots.

I'm OK with the Smith writing. It sort of made sense according to both psychology and the literary genre especially the source material. Smith was a noble man but a beaten and compromised one. It was easier for him to take the path of least resistance and go with the flow so to speak to protect his own. And if you look at the fall of Soviet Union, there are some more reasons. Gorbachev and Yeltsin came close to having cues, I think with the Nazis it would be much much worse; because of more loyalty and their is a nuclear superior Germany watching you as well. But even now given the prosperity of Russia now it seems like the Gorbachev and Yeltsin are not held in as high esteem as they should be because of the loss of prestige that they were once a super power their is nostalgia for the commie times.....

Besides all that, Philip K Dick was one of the neo-Gnostic writers of the 20th Century incorporating Gnostic themes into his Sci Fi novels. So it fits the theme more to have the under dogs be the hero. That was sort of the whole point of the films of the alternate universe to give the beings in this world hope that they could get freedom from the Demiurge system.
