There is no solution if all the New Jerusalem prophecies like these two out of dozens of others are prophecies about a city. If we are talking a literal city then they all disagree with one another. I just choose these two because of the magnitude of the disagreement. However if all of these prophecies are about something else using a city called the New Jerusalem as an illustration. Then there is no problem. Reason being because God uses all kinds of different illustrations to prophesy about the same things in the future. This is especially true when he is giving a vision or a word to different prophets. It's just basic literature 101.

26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Translation? Don't sweat the details. Noah was probably mocked daily for building an ark on dry ground.

Do you believe there will be a physical millennial Kingdom rule on earth before the GWT judgment?

Revelation 20 King James Version (KJV)
20 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

Mostly because I want people to think on their own. At least to put some doubts in their hearts about what they are so darn sure of. How about I let the scripture answer this for itself? As we all know Ezekiel's visuals are about the freakiest in the whole Bible. With three chapters out of Isaiah about the New Jerusalem with me just making a few short points about them. I am pretty sure you will see that the dilemma only exists because of the dogma's of men. You'll have your, well at least my answer. Just follow the link. Don't worry its safe. I have had this website up since 2001.

Materialism is a post modern issue. Even in the church.

Glad you posted the above. It seems these prophecy threads assume a lot. Meaning we never hear how the OP tackles the issues stated.

Who is talking about heaven? Not me. That is your dogma speaking. I'm talking about an age of promise. An age where all the earthly promises of God made to a thousand generations of saints. Promises that were not fulfilled in their generations because depotism and wickedness reigned supreme. Something we in nations that have had the Gospel preached to them in power for centuries. Where everyone that wants one has or can get a Bible. Where people have accepted varying degrees of Bible principle as the way we should run our private and national affairs. In those nations for the first time in the history or the world those earthly promises are being fulfilled.

I think the main problem is to first see how folks handle Revelation 20. Put aside temple measurements because that can be figurative language to teach a physical or spiritual truth.

If one sees Revelation 20 as already fulfilled or allegory then these discussions are fruitless. Sizes of temples are meaningless if one thinks the 1000 year reign happened already (as the EOs will tell us) or is figurative.

One is either a literalist on Revelation 19 and 20 or they are not. It is fruitless to create threads trying to poke holes in an entire different world using elements from another.

    Just my take.

My observation as a historic futurist is people come to these prophecy threads to make fun of other's views. And do a poor job of it as I've been pointing out.

It's all too easy to shoot holes in an eschatology without presenting one's own. Have you read some of the major books on eschatology? It seems no matter the view the author spends most of the time debating an opposing view instead of lending credence to their own. That's why I stopped wasting my time on those books and debates when one could look out their window in the third world and actually see the wars and rumor of wars, persecution etc. As we can just turn on the news and see the same. We were commanded to preach the Gospel to all nations, live holy lives and expectantly await Christ's return.

I was not promoting a dogma.

However from the above I assume (I could be wrong), you see a future golden age of Christianity which is achieved by the church working in the world? Am I correct?

61 The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon me; because Jehovah hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening [of the prison] to them that are bound; 2 to proclaim the year of Jehovah's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; 3 to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.

Jesus quotes this as talking of himself. The rest is the fruit that his work would eventually produce in the world when certain conditions were met....which turned out to be a long long way in the future.

4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
Speaking about a national prosperity of peoples and nations who adopt varying degree's of Biblical principle in how they run their personal and national affairs due to the influence of the Gospel, the Word and his invisible government. Has been and will continue to be coming to pass all over the world.

5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and foreigners shall be your plowmen and your vine-dressers.
Speaking about how the gentiles wll also be the pastors and preachers evangelists and missionaries in the Lords farm which is the world.

6 But ye shall be named the priests of Jehovah; men shall call you the ministers of our God: ye shall eat the wealth of the nations, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
We are a kingly priesthood Peter says. If we do the will of God in Christ we will transform the nations. Their wealth and prosperity, their rule of law and civilization will be our glory. I say we but the good things about western civilization exist because of what our forefathers did and sacrificed. We a are to take up the baton.

7 Instead of your shame [ye shall have] double; and instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess double; everlasting joy shall be unto them.
The believers in ancient Israel and then during the time of the Roman empire and everywhere else were oppressed and dispossessed. Instead of that, because of the work that went before and if we do not blow it all up but do our part. We have already and will possess the double and have everlasting joy because of our salvation.

8 For I, Jehovah, love justice, I hate robbery with iniquity; and I will give them their recompense in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
Believers turned the despotic inherantly unjust ancient world world into the free world where justice does exist. God will fight for them to keep it free and just if they walk in knowledge and faith in his word. If they do not the wicked will rule it and bring back injustice like a hammer. As you can see.

9 And their seed shall be known among the nations, and their offspring among the peoples; all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which Jehovah hath blessed.
To whom to people go to to find salvation or to whom to they go once they have found it? That is an acknowledgement of who the seed of Abraham are. Believers, both Jew and gentile.

10 I will greatly rejoice in Jehovah, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with a garland, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. 11 For as the earth bringeth forth its bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord Jehovah will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.
So it happening and will continue to happen.

You are here to teach? On a mission?

What do you mean you are highly influential? Are we being graced by Pope Francis or Joel Osteen?

No, I see a specific age of promise that started right at the year prophesied 2000 years earlier and in multiple prophecies since then. Not something that will come to pass but something that has been coming to pass starting right on that date. To what extent will it grow I only think only God knows. How many people will get killed in the future opposing that growth I have no idea. Its been hundreds of millions so far. Nevertheless and even though hundreds of millions of Christians don't believe in it. The influence of the Gospel, the Word of God and the invisible Government of God keeps growing in the affairs of men. One thing i like to do is to get people to watch the movie Apocalypto by Mel Gibson to get a picture of the ancient world without any of those influences. A picture is worth a thousand words. After that I want to see them preach to me that the world is growing worse and worse. Ridiculous.
