There is none good but God.

I don't think Jesus ever told the disciples to "be good".
Obedient,
Faithful,
Perfect,
Righteous,
Holy,
Healing,
etc etc etc
but I don't remember "be good"....

He certainly doesn't want us to be 'bad' sheep does He? Our goodness must be found in Christ. 'The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord' (Psalms)

Not the point.

Jesus told the disciples to be perfect - said they must be perfect, because their Father in heaven is perfect.
YHWH'S WORD clearly shows YHWH told His people to be HOLY (set apart), because HE IS HOLY. (in TORAH, His Instructions to His people).

But neither YHWH , nor Jesus, in YHWH'S WORD, tells His people to be good, as far as I remember.
There is a reason, YHWH'S reason.

Maybe illustrated when YHWH says "... so no man has any reason at all to boast in himself - rather, any boasting is in the Lord .... "
