Good day, All

Act 10:39 we are witnesses of all that he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a tree, but God raised him on the third day and made him to appear, not to all the people but to us who had been chosen by God as witnesses, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead. To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

Do you think if he had appeared to all people more would have believed?

Certainly would have assisted God in His attempt to save all people... right?

In Him,

Bill

No.

There were lots of people who did not want to believe, so if they had witnessed Christ after the resurrection they might say: “Yea, I saw this guy they said was Christ (was never real close to Him physically prior to Christ’s death), but it could have been someone else”.

Nope. I am convinced He did it all perfectly. Just look back at the Old Testament and the times The Lord walked on the earth. People were not convinced with their eyes. Faith in Christ, that has always been the center for us humans.

Tough question …the answer ….maybe.

But I have to believe that He was seen of those that truly believed and that God deemed were necessary. Above 500 in addition to the twelve ….doesn’t seem huge for Jerusalem at the time (less than 2%) but word of mouth riveled twitter and everybody knew…. as history has recorded…. And the fact that you and I are here on a forum with many others …. It’s hard to argue the ineffectiveness.

There is also this event. There was absolutely enough evidence given by God that Jesus was who He said He was The promised Messiah, Only begotten Son of God.

Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

This thread seems to be an extension of Hammster's thread if more would be saved if Jesus sent his apostles to everyone and not only to the sheep of the house of Israel.

The answer is "probably". But God does it the "right" way. Why not sending an angel to each person in the world with the gospel? Well, that's not how God chose the gospel to be shared. The important thing is that God wants to see everyone saved, not the method He has chosen to have the good news proclaimed.

Appearances can be deceiving (and often are) ,,, we have the more sure word of prophecy ..... a lot of it.

Satan himself appears as an angel of light.

2 Corinthians 11:14

King James Bible
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Good Day, d taylor

But one would think that the "raised" Christ would bring His appearing to a whole new level.

Good Day,

Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”

It is the Gospel alone that is God's effective power unto Salvation

Those who have ears let them hear.

In Him,

Bill

Amen, Yes the Gospel alone is God's effective power unto Salvation,

Faith comes by hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17 NKJV), and we all choose what we listen to.

Good Day, John

Not so sure that is what the text is saying...

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

Faith comes by hearing...

Hearing not (the word) but though (the word the means by which we get hearing)

dia
