John 8:12. Jesus said, I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.
The energy of sunlight that gives life to all creation is but a type. The true light is the Spirit.
Hebrews 1:3. The Son is the radiance of His glory and the imprint of His being, upholding all things by His powerful word.
The Son of God is:
John 1:9. The true light, coming into the world, that gives the light of life to every man.
To walk in the Spirit is to walk in the Light.
To walk in the Light is to admit our faults to one another, to be made whole.
1 John 1:7 & 9. If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
All worldly knowledge has conspired to distort the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ,
to blind the eyes of the spirit.
2 Co 4:3 & 4. But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

And thus we know what we are called to be a light.
You are the light of the world. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16.
