God Bless America; God Bless a Free Iraq!

As I want the pictures of US Marines and Iraqi civillians working toghether to bring down a towering statue of a vicious dictator, I am filled with a new sense of pride, not felt often. To be part of a country that works for the oppressed. The symbolism that indwells that historic moment when Iraqi and American flags were draped over Saddam's face, when the men of Iraq and our Marines boosted one another up to tie chains around the oppressor, and break the chains that held themselves back. To see the images of women bringing racks of lamb and beef to our troops to show appreciation. It brings a sense of justice.

And yet here is another history lesson. Today at 9 am Eastern time, the voice of the left became silent and unimportant. The same arguments, tried and true, put forth by the left, "Saddam does not have weapons of mass destruction." "The people want Saddam in power." "We cannot win this war." "Saddam does not support terrorists." became moot over live television. Cast before the entire world was the truth: the liberals do not work in the best interests of America and mankind, but in the best interests of themselves. They will only support what makes them look good. And as our marines destroy terrorist training faucilities in nothern Iraq, as we work with the population to tear down symbols of Saddams grip on Baghdad, as we find new weapons caches, and after 21 days of fighting take the capital of a country the size of California, we find the truth: the left has become moot.

Once again the left has found themselves on the wrong side of history. If they had won, and the UN had won, and the democrats had won, those 500 children in a Fedayeen concentration camp in Nassariya would still be there.

I say look not at a post-Saddam Iraq; look at a post-Saddam America. We now see who was right and who was wrong. Jus Ad Bellum has taken force, the battle has raged, and we come out with the understanding that some things are right, and this was right.

Bask in the glory, men and women of America. This is a day for the history books. A free Iraq, and a silenced left!

You bring up something interesting Cenimo... Americans in the US burning the American flag to protest war in the name of the Iraqi's... Iraqis in Iraq waving US flags and yelling, "Thank you Mr. Bush!"

Which Iraqi's are these war protestors supporting? The civillians or the regieme?

Thank God the Iraqi people got it right, even if some people here at home don't.

The left has been silenced for now, but the liberals are good at finding new things to complain about and jeer at.

I was watching this morning as well and was filled with a sense of pride that Iraqis will no more be subject to the wims of a madman and his family and can experience freedom.

First off; YaY!!!

Ok; now for the rest of my thoughts ;)!! I'm glad that I'm now the only one seeing the Iraqi's cheering and waving flags! (I think my favorite was the guy riding on Saddams statue head as it was dragged down the road!)

Thank God that this man is out of power!

I honestly don't care if he's alive or dead... (sad as that is) I'm just happy for all those Iraqi's who can now have lives!

Just one question.

Before this war started I refused to put my name in either the anti or pro camp. During the war I was the same, and even after the war, I feel like rejoicing but still don't wanna put my happiness in something that could have moral implications.

I know Saddam was responsible for an untold amount of wickedness in Iraq, but I'm still confused over the matter.

Is this what God classed as being luke warm?

This reminds me of something I heard today. While I was watching the bronze figure of Saddam come crashing down, the Fox Reporter stated that the BBC was NOT broadcasting the event. Instead, they were covering an earhtquake in India.

The liberal press is a nuisance in the normal course of an average day. But on this historic day they are pathetic, refusing to even acknowledge the pure joy and celebration in the hearts of the Iraqi people.

Correction the BBC did show the wonderous event of the statue falling on TV I saw it here in England   actually it's been shown a lot and on commercial stations too.

My son is there, and I watched many young American men proud and smiling, knowing what they had given to the Iraqi people. Many of the whiners around the world have no concept of who pays for their freedoms. It should also be obvious there is a continuing price for freedom. I thank God for the fine young men and women who are willing to risk and give their lives for peace and freedom.

My son and his mates are proud of what they are doing, regardless of what the whiners say. I'm glad that he's proud, because I'm also proud of him and the many others who serve. I grieve for those who gave their lives and for those who will bear wounds. These were men and women of honor who gave of themselves for what they believe and for others. I pray their sacrifice will be honored and appreciated. For the families who lost a loved one, I pray they will hold their head high and simply be proud of what their loved one believed in and fought for.

I'm positive there are moral implications. We know that Saddam has already killed 1.5 to 2 million people, that he lets 5,000 children a month starve to death, that he had active torture chambers, that he had active concentration camps, that he carried out mass executions, that he had chem/bio weapons of mass destruction, that he trained, equipped, harbored, and supported terrorists, and that he would use any opportunity to kill and conquer. The moral implication is should anyone do anything to stop the madman? Is there a duty to stop the madman? Reporting the madman to the UN was a 12 year joke. The question remains a moral one, should someone stop him or let him continue? There is much more to the story, but these facts should be more than enough to finally stand up and stop the butcher! I would go in the opposite direction and ask if it was right for us to wait so long.

All the TV anchors monitor the other stations. I'm sure the BBC reported on the event, but they weren't at the moment.
