The Jesuit "New World Translation" (NWT) of the WTS/JW Org, based upon Aleph (Sinaiticus) and B (Vaticanus)!

Why does the NWT (which I have in my hand, possession) refer, in its notations (footnotes), to the Codex Aleph (Sinaiticus) and Codex B (Vaticanus), among others?

For instance in the the Revised 1970 NWT (I am holding), on page 1162, the New Testament, the Gospel of John, Chapter 7-8 (bottom of the page), it states (as confirmed likewise here - Link):

"a Manuscripts (aleph) B Sys omit verses 53 to chapter 8, verse 11 which read (with some variation in the various Greek texts and versions) as follows ..."​

The NWT (Rev. 1970) just referenced Codex Sinaiticus and Vaticanus. In fact, the NWT, is largely based in these Codices, when compared to them, and in comparison to the KJV (GNT TR).

"For the Christian Greek Scriptures, the master Greek text of 1881 as prepared by Westcott and Hort was used primarily, but several other master texts were consulted as well as numerous early versions in other languages." - Link

"... Those verses, found in some translations, are not in the oldest available Bible manuscripts. Comparison with other modern translations, such as The New English Bible and the Catholic Jerusalem Bible, shows that other translators have also recognized that the verses in question do not belong in the Bible. ..." - Link​

The "other master texts" they refer to are Sinaiticus and Vaticanus (both Catholic!, see Matthew 24:26 in a new light, for the one, Sinaiticus (in a desert), and Vaticanus (in a secret chamber of the Vatican vault)) which is what Westcott and Hort used clandestinely (in their own diaries)! You do not have to believe me, ask the WTS/JW org itself until you get straight answers.

It is even known that., "The layout resembles the 1901 edition of the American Standard Version." - Wiki

"... The Greek master text by the Cambridge University scholars B. F. Westcott and F. J. A. Hort (1881) was used as the basis for translating the New Testament into English.[23] The committee also referred to the Novum Testamentum Graece (18th edition, 1948) and to works by Jesuit scholars José M. Even the Latin Vulgate was consulted for the OT of the NWT.

Also, it is stated,

"As a basis for translating the Hebrew Scriptures, the text of Rudolf Kittel’s Biblia Hebraica, editions of 1951-1955, was used." - Link​

Do you know who Rudolph Kittel was, who his father was, and his (RK) theological positions were? Do you know what condition the mss that Kittel used is in and why it was rejected?

Now, let's get to some specifics in the NWT Jesuit bible.

Let's consider the so-called "translation" of the NWT, and show that it is based upon Vaticanus (B) and Sinaiticus (aleph) even further:

The King James Bible, faithful as ever reads:

Mar 9:29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.​

In the NWT, in Mark 9:29, it reads:

Mark 9:29 NWT - 29 He said to them: “This kind can come out only by prayer.”

The side notation on the NWT says [red, bold and underline added by myself]:

"... by prayer: Some manuscripts add “and fasting.” But the earliest and most reliable manuscripts do not include “and fasting.” These words were evidently added by copyists who advocated fasting and practiced it. That is a total lie. Notice:

It is because of Codex Sinaiticus (aleph) (desert) and Codex Vaticanus (B) (secret vaults) (Matthew 24:26) and 0274 (pc, no cursives are cited by the N/A, or UBS), k. These (alone) leave off “and fasting”.

Yet, consider that vast evidence for “and fasting”:

It is not as the NWT notation which says "Some manuscripts", but in all practicability, all of them.

It is not as the NWT notation says, "the earliest and most reliable manuscripts", but only primarily refers to Vaticanus and Sinaiticus the two most emended codices/texts on earth.

It is even found in the so called ECF:

Thomas Aquinas, citing Chrysostom, and Theophylact, and Bede, and Pseudo-Jerome, in Catena Aurea, states on Mark 9:29:

"… Chrys.: They feared that perchance they had lost the grace conferred upon them; for they had already received power over unclean spirits.

“… Pseudo-Jerome: Or else, the folly which is connected with the softness of the flesh, is healed by fasting; anger and laziness are healed by prayer. Even the Douay Rheims has (which counters their Jerome's corrupted Vulgate):

Let's now consider the NWT Matthew 17:21, and show that it too follows Vaticanus and Sinaiticus:

Again, that which is stated is a lie, not only referring to Mark 9:29, which is already shown to be in practically all mss, the NWT notation again false says, "these words do not appear in the earliest and most reliable manuscripts, and are evidently not part of the inspired Scriptures."

The words do not occur in the following corrupted texts:

Sinaiticus has been edited by a scribe and placed the text back in the text, so it is in Sinaiticus by later scribe.

What leading Protestant Greek scholars say about the "New World Translation":

Dr. Bruce M. Metzger, professor of New Testament at Princeton University, calls the NWT "a frightful mistranslation,.. Erroneous...pernicious...reprehensible.. If the Jehovah's Witnesses take this translation seriously, they are polytheists." (Professor of New Testament Language and Literature)

Dr. William Barclay, a leading Greek scholar, said "it is abundantly clear that a sect which can translate the New Testament like that is intellectually dishonest."

British scholar H.H. Rowley stated, "From beginning to end this volume is a shining example of how the Bible should not be translated....Well, as a backdrop, I was disturbed because they (Watchtower) had misquoted me in support of their translation." (These words were excerpted from the tape, "Martin and Julius Mantey on The New World Translation", Mantey is quoted on pages 1158-1159 of the Kingdom interlinear Translation)

Dr. Julius Mantey, author of A Manual Grammar of the Greek New Testament, calls the NWT "a shocking mistranslation...Obsolete and incorrect...It is neither scholarly nor reasonable to translate John 1:1 'The Word was a god...I have never read any New Testament so badly translated as The Kingdom Interlinear Translation of The Greek Scriptures.... it is a distortion of the New Testament. The translators used what J.B. Rotherham had translated in 1893, in modern speech, and changed the readings in scores of passages to state what Jehovah's Witnesses believe and teach. That is a distortion not a translation." (Julius Mantey , Depth Exploration in The New Testament (N.Y.: Vantage Pres, 1980), pp.136-137) the translators of the NWT are "diabolical deceivers." Let's now consider the NWT Mark 7:16, and show that it too follows Vaticanus and Sinaiticus:

NWT Notation on Mark 7:16 - "Some manuscripts here include the words “If anyone has ears to listen, let him listen,” but they do not appear in important early manuscripts. Therefore, these words are evidently not part of the original text of Mark. Similar words, though, can be found at Mr 4:9, 23 as part of the inspired Scriptures. Again, that which is stated is a lie, not only referring to Mark 4:9,23 which does have the words, the NWT notation again falsely says, "... Some manuscripts ... but they do not appear in important early manuscripts ..."

"Important"? Who decided that Sinaiticus and Vaticanus were "important", or even "early" or even accurate or true?

The Jesuit "New World Translation" (NWT) of the WTS/JW Org, based upon Aleph (Sinaiticus) and B (Vaticanus)!

Why does the NWT (which I have in my hand, possession) refer, in its notations (footnotes), to the Codex Aleph (Sinaiticus) and Codex B (Vaticanus), among others?

For instance in the the Revised 1970 NWT (I am holding), on page 1162, the New Testament, the Gospel of John, Chapter 7-8 (bottom of the page), it states (as confirmed likewise here - Link):

"a Manuscripts (aleph) B Sys omit verses 53 to chapter 8, verse 11 which read (with some variation in the various Greek texts and versions) as follows ..."​

The NWT (Rev. 1970) just referenced Codex Sinaiticus and Vaticanus. In fact, the NWT, is largely based in these Codices, when compared to them, and in comparison to the KJV (GNT TR).

"For the Christian Greek Scriptures, the master Greek text of 1881 as prepared by Westcott and Hort was used primarily, but several other master texts were consulted as well as numerous early versions in other languages." - Link

"... Those verses, found in some translations, are not in the oldest available Bible manuscripts. Comparison with other modern translations, such as The New English Bible and the Catholic Jerusalem Bible, shows that other translators have also recognized that the verses in question do not belong in the Bible. ..." - Link​

The "other master texts" they refer to are Sinaiticus and Vaticanus (both Catholic!, see Matthew 24:26 in a new light, for the one, Sinaiticus (in a desert), and Vaticanus (in a secret chamber of the Vatican vault)) which is what Westcott and Hort used clandestinely (in their own diaries)! You do not have to believe me, ask the WTS/JW org itself until you get straight answers.

It is even known that., "The layout resembles the 1901 edition of the American Standard Version." - Wiki

Even the Latin Vulgate was consulted for the OT of the NWT.

Also, it is stated,

Do you know who Rudolph Kittel was, who his father was, and his (RK) theological positions were? Do you know what condition the mss that Kittel used is in and why it was rejected?

Now, let's get to some specifics in the NWT Jesuit bible.

I’m sure you’re aware the TR was produced by the Catholic, Desiderius Erasmus. So my question is, why ‘bash’ the other two manuscripts. It seems you’ve not been, thorough enough in your research. I hope you’ll reconsider your position, on the NWT.
