Why did you tell me that I could reiy on the promises of your God, then when I come running and say I don't see those promises eventuate.

You Christians say (well I think we all know what you say)

But Christians,

What do you say about a person who makes a specific promise, then gives you nothing?

Into the mix have to be thrown:

- the ability of the explainers you've encountered to explain such that it makes something clearer to you; at a remote forum it isn't easy to "guess" where someone is coming from, while some answerers (sadly) have an "off pat" attitude

- previous misleading of you arising from a variety of different possible causes; perhaps you've been watching some of those bad television channels (they actually tell you to watch them)

- timing

- what kind of promise

- our ways of inferring

and probably lots of other things I haven't thought of.

It's important to write imaginatively, but at the same time directness is the best method of lateral thinking.
