"How can you believe, when you recive glory from one another, and you do not seek the glory that that is from the one and only God?

Wow! How hard it is to get away from the praise of man...even the fear of man...and care mostly what our God thinks about us...what He can see about us even in secret places.

For if ye had believed Moses, ye would have believed Me: for he wrote of Me.

But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe My words?

(John 5:46,47)

Belief in something in the Biblical sense means more than mere intellectual assent, but involves commitment and obediance to God-given instructions.

Here Jesus affirms that the Torah is an essential tool in the proper instruction of the Godly person. Without the Holy Law of God, we have no way of recognizing and believing Jesus as the Messiah, the Christ, the Son of God, the Son of Man in Daniel, the Seed of David.

The Holy Law of God, written by God's own finger upon the original tablets, set forth a clear and focussed set of guidelines to prepare the God-seeker for receiving the awesome honour of eternal life and inheritance of the Kingdom of God. (Exodus 20:1-17)

These commands begin with God as the object of attention, step through the practical essence of the Way to Christ, which becomes the Way of Holy love, and the Way to life everlasting:

(1 & 2) Abstain from Idolatry. (Place nothing higher than God in authority and respect.)

(3) Don't take the Name of the Lord in vanity. (Avoid presumptuousness and false prophecy )

(4) Keep the Sabbath Holy. (Holiness is primary: rest is secondary.)

(5) Honour your parents. (The instrument of your earthly protection, instruction and love, provided by the Lord.)

(6) Do not kill. (For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them.)

(7) Do not commit adultery. (But let your yes be yes, and your no, no. Avoid hypocrisy.)

(8) Do not steal. (Pray, ask for the right things for the right reasons. Judge yourselves.)

(9) Do not bear false witness against your neighbour. (Avoid even gossip and idle talk.)

(10) Do not crave or seek what belongs to others. (Let the Father reward you openly for your faithfulness.)

John 6 is an extremely important chapter so to remind us wherre we are here are the first 14 verses from the New Century Version:

1 After this, Jesus went across Lake Galilee (or, Lake Tiberias).
2 Many people followed him because they saw the miracles he did to heal the sick.
3 Jesus went up on a hill and sat down there with his followers.
4 It was almost the time for the Jewish Passover Feast.
5 When Jesus looked up and saw a large crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, "Where can we buy enough bread for all these people to eat?"
6 (Jesus asked Philip this question to test him, because Jesus already knew what he planned to do.)
7 Philip answered, "We would all have to work a month to buy enough bread for each person to have only a little piece."
8 Another one of his followers, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said,
9 "Here is a boy with five loaves of barley bread and two little fish, but that is not enough for so many people."
10 Jesus said, "Tell the people to sit down." This was a very grassy place, and about five thousand men sat down there.
11 Then Jesus took the loaves of bread, thanked God for them, and gave them to the people who were sitting there. He did the same with the fish, giving as much as the people wanted.
12 When they had all had enough to eat, Jesus said to his followers, "Gather the leftover pieces of fish and bread so that nothing is wasted."
13 So they gathered up the pieces and filled twelve baskets with the pieces left from the five barley loaves.
14 When the people saw this miracle that Jesus did, they said, "He must truly be the Prophetn who is coming into the world."

John 6:16 (NKJV) = Now when evening came, His disciples went down to the sea,

John 6:17 (NKJV) = got into the boat, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was already dark, and Jesus had not come to them.
