John 1:2The same was in the beginning with God.
the idea of the Trinity begins to be presented.

John 1:3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Who created?

Jesus is the Light...John came to bear witness of the Light...

John 1:4
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

John 1:8
He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.


Paul saw the Light...

Acts 9:3
And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him alight from heaven:

There are lots of people out in the world who do not understand About Jesus!
It is up to us to try and explain to them what jesus is all about.​

The light shines in the darkness,
but the darkness has not understood it.
John 1;5

Furthermore, tell the people. This is what the Lord says; See, I am setting before you the way of life and the way of death.
Jeremiah 21;8

The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.


John came to bear witness.

John 1;8He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.

Jesus is the true light, we like John the baptist are also to witness to others about Jesus for what he can do in there life.

Jesus is the Light.

John 1;10He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognise him.

The people God had chosen could not recognise the Messiah when he came, and still today there are many who still don't recognise Jesus.

John 1:11He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
lets make sure we do not ever reject HIM!!

John 1;12Yet to all who received him, to those who beileved in his name. he gave the right to become Children of God.

All of those who have accepted Jesus are heirs to God's Kingdom, and therefore are going to spend eternity in His presence.

John 1, 13:
Whose birth was from God and not from blood, or from an impulse of the flesh and man's desire.

God's sons are those who believe in God.

John 1:14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
one of my fav. verses. GOD became human wow!!

John 1:15John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.


John the Baptist knew who JESUS was!!

From the fulness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another.

Many blessings are available to us-prosperity, security, families. These are just three of thousands. We must remember to thank and praise God and give Him all the glory for each and every blessing we recive.

John 1:17

For the law was given through Moses;
grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

John 1:17 so is grace opposed to the law? Do we no longer need the law? Why include the OT in the bible?

John 1:18No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.


but one day we will see GOD face to face. i can't wait!!

John 1:19And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?


Hey John you are out there baptising and preaching and everyone is going out to see you. Who are you? Who gives you the authority???
