which I preached unto you

Read Acts 18:5 & 13:16-41 for the gospel Paul "preached" to them. Note in 13:28-30 that what Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 is just a part of what he had "preached" to them. He uses this part to explain how vital to our Faith is Jesus Christ's resurrection.

1Cor15 is a part of Paul's gospel. The foundation of Paul's gospel is that Jesus is YHWH's Anointed - YHWH's Christ - per Acts 18:5; 13:23, 33 > Psalm 2; 1 Cor 3:11.

Note also in Acts 13:22-23 & 34-37 how Paul connects Jesus to King David and thus to the Davidic Covenant - the eternal (thus resurrected) Kingship of Jesus Christ - and per Psalm 2 (Acts 13:33) Jesus Christ the inheritor and ruler of the earth.

Just by using the name "Jesus" and connecting it to His title/position "Christ," we're talking about the King to whom all knees shall bow. Thus His - the Eternal King's - Commission to make disciples/disciple/teach/instruct "all the nations" - baptizing and teaching them to guard/keep/obey all He commands. Thus Paul's stated Apostleship for "obedience of faith in all the nations" on behalf of the name of Jesus the Christ (Romans 1:5; 16:26 effectively bookending Romans).

NKJ Psalm 24:1 <A Psalm of David.> The earth is the LORD'S, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein.

NKJ Psalm 89:11 The heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours; The world and all its fullness, You have founded them.

Yes believe in Him, what He was saying about the Kingdom to come. What did He say in the Lord's Prayer? 'Our Father which art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth as it is in Heaven'. 'For thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory'. All about the Father and His Kingdom and governance, Jesus being a representative and King of said Kingdom for and over man. Eternal life in the Kingdom of and with God as it was in the first Garden. No Kingdom of God, no salvation. Of course had Jesus failed His mission there would be no Kingdom, so He was important too. :)

Absolutely believe what Jesus accomplished for our salvation is in Him and what He accomplished. Even the Adversary would not deny who He was, but it does deny the Kingdom for it has no part there to play or have any authourity in. So focusing on Jesus and not the Kingdom serves the Adversary.

You have a belief but sure, sounds like it is a man created idea. Eternal Life is in the Kingdom.

Never heard of or read that in the Bible.

I know a person gets in the Kingdom of God by trusting in Jesus for Gods free gift of Eternal Life. Once a person believes in The Messiah for Eternal Life, they are born again a child of God and have membership in the Kingdom.

it only started after Christ died on the cross.
Yes the Kingdom came into being as Jesus had fulfilled what was required of Him, never once putting His will ahead of the will of the Father. The foundation of the Kingdom.

So the gospel of the kingdom was part of the Old Testament (romans 15:8)

Ever since the Garden, before and after the fall, God said His will before the will of man. The whole Bible is stories of man rebelling against His will, the outcome, and the remedy. But there was never any way out of this asylum until the Kingdom.

What is the gospel of Jesus? Is it merely the news that he was born in a manger? Is it confined to the miracles and healing Jesus did while walking the earth? Maybe it's simply the news of his death and resurrection? Well, all of these things are a part of the gospel, but the good news that Jesus preached is much more "... Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God" (Mark 1:14). This is the gospel of Jesus. Nowadays many fail to preach the gospel of God's kingdom. Why? The bible teaches that Satan has deceived the whole world (Revelation 12:9). Jesus said that many would come preaching in his name and yet deceive many (Matthews 24:5). This is why pastors everywhere claim to be fulfilling the great commission (spreading the gospel all over the world), but never mention the coming of God's kingdom. Therefore, many people are deceived and have not heard the gospel of Jesus. Instead they hear and believe another gospel, which teaches that they are going to heaven. This is not the gospel of Jesus!

All over the bible, from the promise to Abraham in Genesis to the second coming of Jesus in Revelation, the Lord reveals that his kingdom will be on earth. This message is supposed to be good news to us, especially considering the condition of the world. We should be glad to know that God is going to straighten out the trouble and confusion that's presently in the world. Jesus even told us to pray for the fulfillment of his gospel, "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:10). Jesus also warned us to repent (turn from our sins) and be prepared for the coming of his kingdom. If we truly believe the gospel, then we will obey God's commandments. "...The unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God" (I Corinthians 6:9).

However, Jesus said the meek are blessed because they will inherit the earth (Matthew 5:5). Now why in the world would the meek want to inherit the earth if God is supposed to take us to heaven? Maybe the meek are not so blessed after all?! Yes, the meek are blessed because they will be on the earth, in God's kingdom. "...but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth" (Proverbs 10:30). Therefore, repent and believe the gospel (Mark 1:15). Jesus never promised to take us to heaven. As a matter of fact Jesus said that no man went up to heaven except he (speaking of himself) that came down from heaven (St. John 3:13). Jesus promised us we would dwell with him on the earth. That's right, Jesus is returning to establish the kingdom of God. If we have faith and obey him, we will rule with him on the earth, "And hast made us unto our God kings and priests; and we shall reign on the earth" (Revelation 5:10).
The Gospel is sin, death, forgiveness, and the restoration of life.

The 12 did not preach the gospel of Jesus's death burial and resurrection for sins (1 Cor 15:1-4), during the 4 Gospels.

They were preaching the gospel of the kingdom instead (Matthew 10:5-7)
The whole Gospel is contained within the Old covenant but it isn’t fully realized until the Holy Spirit descends at Pentecost which is predicated upon the cross and Jesus’ ascension.

John 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

'bring all things to your remembrance' - about His Gospel of the Kingdom
'whatsoever I have said unto you' - about His Gospel of the Kingdom

The Holy Spirit, a guiding wind, will keep them on a path they already know and from falling to the wayside the Parable of the Sower spoke of

There was a time when pretty much all Christian groups warned about the possibility of going to Hell and the importance of living holy lives. However, such warnings are just about a thing of the past in these days of Modernism.

First, in order to not not be confused with Belief Alone-ism or the sin and still be saved crowd, I need to state to you that I believe there are four aspects of salvation (as follows):

1. The Provisional Atonement (Christ's death, burial, resurrection, and asension).
2. Justification (Receiving God's grace by faith in Jesus, and in seeking forgiveness with Him).
3. Sanctification (Living holy by the power of God working in a believer).
4. Glorifiation (God taking the believer home).

For more details with Scripture on these 4 different aspects of salvation, check out my thread here:
The Four Aspects of Salvation.

Second, the gospel is defined for us in full detail in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. It's a part of our Justification.

But what is the gospel of the kingdom?

Well, the gospel means: “good news.”

But what is the good news of the kingdom?

The clue lies with with the words of Jesus when He said,

“Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life:
and they are they which testify of me”
(John 5:39).

In other words, "The Kingdom of God" is in reference to "Jesus Christ."

To put it to you another way, John the baptist said, "repent" (seek forgiveness with God by way of prayer), for the Kingdom of God (JESUS) was at hand (near, or coming).

We can read about how the disciples preached the kingdom of God before the cross:

"And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick." (Luke 9:2).

Yet, the kingdom of God was preached after the cross, too:

"Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him." (Acts of the Apostles 28:31).

Kingdoms are made up of people.

Jesus is the head of the Kingdom.

For you cannot have a Kingdom without a King, and Jesus is the King of Kings.

The Kingdom of God is Jesus.

For the Kingdom can be within a person.

"Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." (Luke 17:21).

Jesus says, "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." (John 15:7). Jesus stands at the door of men's hearts and knocks to come inside them: "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." (Revelation 3:20). "That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love," (Ephesians 3:17).

Jesus identifies Himself as the Kingdom of God when He says,

"But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you." (Luke 11:20).

When Jesus told His disciples that when they healed the sick, they are to say to them that the Kingdom of God has come near to them.

"And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’" (Luke 10:9).

This again is Jesus healing them. Jesus is the Kingdom of God. He is the One who heals.

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised," (Luke 4:18).

Jesus is the One who lives in all believers thereby making up the Kingdom of God's people. It's why we are the body of Christ.

"So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another." (Romans 12:5).

The Gospel is the good news of all of what Jesus did to reconcile us back to God, the Spirit, and, after that, is based on us walking in the/that new way, but what is actually an old way, that was before the OT law covenant, that both is, and both always was, from the very beginning of all, and from before the beginning of time, etc...

Faith, and Love, and Mercy, and Truth, and Forgiveness, and all of that, etc, etc, etc...

If we walk in and follow after those ways, then we have fully accepted what Jesus did for us, and have fully accepted Jesus, and we now have a new destination available to us in the afterlife, that is, "Heaven" now, in that way, if we now walk in that or those new ways, etc...

Also we spend the rest of our lives spending it trying to get to know God fully here also, all the while we are here until we get to there also, etc....

Which we can and will only ever get to truly know, by walking in that, or this new way, that is actually a very old way, etc, etc, etc...

Anyway, as far as I know, that is the good news Gospel, etc...

It and/or that/this, is what Jesus came to both show us and tell us, as far as I know, etc...

But it is conditional of/on walking in those new ways...

But following the old ways, you won't and will not ever, etc, for they are opposed to that, etc...

God Bless!

The Pharisees rejected the Gospel of the kingdom expecting a premillennial kingdom as most do today. Jesus preached a spiritual kingdom now present. The Pharisees preached a physical kingdom most still wait for.

You're correct in that, Paul taught many truths.

I have c & p 5 bible versions where verse 3 proclaims: first importance or most important part of Paul's gospel message is: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

4) that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

Summery: the 1st & most important part of Paul's gospel message of SALVATION:

Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, he was buried & he was raised on the 3rd day according to the Scriptures,

1 Corinthians 15:

New American Standard Bible
2 (A) by which also ye are saved,
3 For I handed down to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

Amplified Bible
2 (A) By this faith you are saved
3 For I passed on to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to [that which] the Scriptures [foretold],
4 and that He was buried, and that He was [bodily] raised on the third day according to [that which] the Scriptures [foretold],

Christian Standard Bible
2 (A) and by which you are being saved
3 For I passed on to you as most important what I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

Easy-to-Read Version
2 (A) That Good News, the message you heard from me, is God’s way to save you.
3 I gave you the message that I received. I told you the most important truths: that Christ died for our sins, as the Scriptures say;
4 that he was buried and was raised to life on the third day, as the Scriptures say;

People like to avoid the fact that Paul taught the Gospel of the kingdom, not the twist in doctrine they often present..

Acts 19:8 He (Paul) went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the Kingdom of God

Acts 28:23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening. 24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

Acts 28:30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, 31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

OP: The gospel of Jesus.
Post #9: I shared Paul's gospel message of Jesus, by which SALVATION is found.

Where in these verses you've shared, do I find salvation? In a synagogue? Via the law & Moses?

How does one apply you're Gospel of the kingdom or kingdom of God mentions to salvation?

The Pharisees rejected the Gospel of the kingdom expecting a premillennial kingdom as most do today. Jesus preached a spiritual kingdom now present. The Pharisees preached a physical kingdom most still wait for.
There will also be a Kingdom, a God's Kingdom on here on earth as well, but it will tied into or with the Spiritual also, but that doesn't happen until after Armageddon, but waiting for it while rejecting the Spiritual aspect of it, just does not make sense, but after that seventh day is over, so is all of this entire Creation age, and the Kingdom that was here with it, and we will all be transferred (well, hopefully a lot of us or most of us) to a purely Spiritual Kingdom after that, after which, for those that go there or went there, they will all take part in a whole new Creation age and era all over again, starting at a day one all over again...

Some will not be resurrected until the entire end of this whole Creation age or era though...

But we will all come together for one and very final judgement after that, or at that time...

God Bless!

That is how a lot of the Jews will fall and fail though... (and the rest of the world, etc)...

They will try to set up God's Kingdom here on earth, but it will be only a physical Kingdom, and a false Kingdom, not led by Christ, but the Anti-Christ, and will not at all be spiritual at all, or connected to, or be in harmony with the spiritual at all, etc, but it will be being led by, or headed from, the Anti-Christ, but in and from Jerusalem, and Israel, as it's head, etc...

And when that happens, or things like that start to happen, then you'll truly know we are in the true "last days", right before Armageddon, etc...

And you can be sure, they will greatly, greatly persecuting all true believers in the true Christ, etc, and all that reject their Kingdom, for the one that will be coming, and that is to come, after that, etc, the true one that is to come after that, etc...

Anyway,

God Bless!

You're correct in that, Paul taught many truths.

But he taught one truth as foundational - the only foundation that can be built upon:

NKJ 1 Cor. 3:10-11 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. 11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

NKJ Acts 18:1-5 After these things Paul departed from Athens and went to Corinth. 2 And he found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla (because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to depart from Rome); and he came to them. 3 So, because he was of the same trade, he stayed with them and worked; for by occupation they were tentmakers. 4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded both Jews and Greeks. 5 When Silas and Timothy had come from Macedonia, Paul was compelled by the Spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ.

Remembering that "Christ" is a title, whenever we read "Jesus Christ," it's just short for Jesus the Christ, or Jesus is the Christ. The fact that the Messiah/Christ finally came into human history in the person of Jesus, was and is the foundation for Christianity.

And for Christians who did not grow up learning the Jewish Scriptures, the other part of this foundation is who and what "the Christ" is. For this Paul pointed mixed audiences of Jews & non-Jews to Psalm 2 for a short & intense writing about YHWH's Anointed/Christ/Messiah (Acts 13). Psalm 2 would probably be a better place to start evangelizing than 1 Cor 15. Then the evangelized would be founded on the fact that this Jesus Christ is someone who best be obeyed by all - including kings of the earth. Paul evangelized this way & laid this foundation.
I have c & p 5 bible versions where verse 3 proclaims: first importance or most important part of Paul's gospel message is: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures

Yes, we have a lot of translations now. I also look at several English versions (9 on screen right now). I also read translational notes & translate Greek. Here is another translation and a few translations notes from a couple versions:

YLT 1 Corinthians 15:3 for I delivered to you first, what also I did receive, that Christ died for our sins, according to the Writings,

NET 1 Corinthians 15:3 For I passed on to you as of first importance (3) what I also received – that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures,

NET Notes (1Co 15:3): (3) tn Grk "among (the) first things."
NAS 1 Corinthians 15:3 For (a) I delivered to you (1) as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died (b) for our sins (c) according to the Scriptures,

Notes:
1 Lit., among the first
a 1Co 11:23
b Joh 1:29; Gal 1:4; Heb 5:1, Heb 5:3; 1Pe 2:24
c Isa 53:5-12; Mat 26:24; Luk 24:25-27; Act 8:32f.; Act 17:2f.; Act 26:22
NIV 1 Corinthians 15:3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance(1) : that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

NIV Notes (1Co 15:3): Notes: (1) Or you at the first
What these translators are telling us is that they are making a choice as to how to translate the Greek phrase. As the NAS notes, the literal translation would be "among the first."

The Greek word at issue here can mean first in time, first in importance, first in order, etc. One of the problems I have with this notion of first importance is that it conflicts with the concept of foundations, which are of first importance in building as Paul - the wise/skillful master builder indicates (1Cor3:10). This is one of the reasons I wouldn't translate 1Cor15:3 as importance.

On the other hand, importance would not be an issue if we just stay close in context in 1Cor15. Note that Paul doesn't mention "Jesus" until late in 1Cor15. He just says that "Christ" died, was buried, was resurrected according to the Scriptures. He doesn't have to mention Jesus to these Corinthians because he's already laid the foundation that Jesus is the Christ. All he's doing in 1Cor15 is making the case for the vital importance of the resurrection of Jesus the Christ. If not resurrected, then Jesus is not the Christ (because the Christ was to die, be buried & resurrected per Scripture) and our faith that Jesus is the Christ is then worthless.

I know this 1Cor15 gospel, which is actually part of the Gospel, has been made extremely popular, but it does not teach foundationally who and what the Christ is and thus who and what Jesus actually is. He's YHWH's Anointed (Ps2) - YHWH's Prophet, Priest, and KING. And the earth is His - He is the resurrected King of God's Kingdom, the Kingdom of Heaven. All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to Him and He has commanded that we make students of all nations, baptizing them and teaching all He commands. This is all authority language beginning with the title "Christ." This is Kingdom language and the KING. If more Christians understood this, then maybe we'd have more obedience to the King and less belief that He allows sin to continue in those who are truly His.

Death for our sins, burial, resurrection is surely of great importance, but who & what is this person is the foundation upon which all that has been done for us can be built. That's Paul's language.

Second, the gospel is defined for us in full detail in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

Not so that this is "full detail."

For the Kingdom can be within a person.

"Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." (Luke 17:21).

As a King James only advocate, we can only expect this interpretation, but many think this is not the best translation:

ESV Luke 17:21 nor (a) will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or 'There!' for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you."(1)

ESV Notes (Luk 17:21): Notes: (a) ver. 23, (1) Or within you, or within your grasp
NAS Luke 17:21 nor will (a) they say, 'Look, here it is!' or, 'There it is!' For behold, the kingdom of God is (1) in your midst."

NAS Notes (Luk 17:21): Notes: (1) Or, within you, (a) Luk 17:23
NET Luke 17:21 nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or 'There!' For indeed, the kingdom of God is (64) in your midst."(65)

NET Notes (Luk 17:21):

64 tn This is a present tense in the Greek text. In contrast to waiting and looking for the kingdom, it is now available.
65 tn This is a far better translation than "in you." Jesus would never tell the hostile Pharisees that the kingdom was inside them. The reference is to Jesus present in their midst. He brings the kingdom. Another possible translation would be "in your grasp." For further discussion and options, see D. L. Bock, Luke (BECNT), 2:1414–19
NIV Luke 17:21 nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is in your midst."(1)

NIV Notes (Luk 17:21): Notes: 1 Or is within you
The concern for me is how much we spiritualize the Kingdom vs. how much we understand that the earth and Heaven - to which He has been granted all authority - is all His and He has commanded that His people make the nations aware of this & teach them all He commands.

Luke 17:20-21 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Maybe He said this, and maybe He said something else, and maybe we should take it a few different ways. See post #59.
