What is this, my personal blog now?

Blessed winter solstice (or summer if you're in the southern hemisphere), blessed Yule and Io Saturnalia!

Yay! We made it to the Solstice!
Actually, it's been pretty mild so far with only 2 or 3 flurries.

Yeah! We've gotten off exceptionally easily here, its only started getting cold again recently with 60s around Christmas which was disorienting.

Also weed is officially legal in Illinois today! Time to party, lads.

    Happy New Years, everyone!

Seeing how dead this section is, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a comparative religion reading group here. Reading stuff like Islamic mysticism, Vedic Scriptures, etc.

This has been a hard month psychologically.. my father's health.. he came close to dying.. and well he seems better now.. but I just don't now how much time I have with him left. I don't want to get into personal detail, but he's suffered permanent physical damage and despite recovering I don't see him being around for decades to come.

I wish I appreciated him more when he was in good health. Sadly this will probably be a mistake that sons make with their fathers that will never end.

I'm sorry to hear it. :(

Do you live close enough to spend more time with him now?

Yeah I live close enough to spend time with him. He is not the most social or close person in the world, but when his health gets better I definitely want to spend more time with him.
