    10 horns represent 10 kingdoms(governments)

Many speculations- we haven't yet reached the point in time where it is clear as to how it plays out , watching some documentary on this and theory that is plausible is that the world is divided up into 10 regions with 1 horn representing each region = 10 horns

The video graphics that was used showing the 10 regions being divided from north pole to the south pole -think of how an orange fruit looks after the outer skin has been removed - sections independent of each other in it's own covering yet all together as one fruit.

We'll just have to be patient and ready to see what is revealed in the time to come
The world is changing and current theories may all be abandoned when more world changing events come to pass

I read something years ago that argued much of the book of revelations was about the immediate context and took place within the following few decades. That was a while ago though, and I just skimmed through it.

Yep. I didn't buy it, but I do now. It most definitely was talking about VERY SOON TO TAKE PLACE events. "The time is near" is a phrase to tell humans that THE TIME IS NEAR. And 2,000 years is not "near" in any stretch of the meaning of the phrase. and no, the "1,000 years is as a day" argument does not apply here. He didn't say, "near, in god years". :)

Or, i'll just ad "likely" to the ever growing list of wishy washy get arounds that armchair eschatology quarterbacks throw out willy nilly in their ongoing attempts to bend the text to suit their view.

That what the Aposltes all believed and taught.

Being the SOLE authorities on the subject, I expect they were correct.

Well, one of the best things about this forum for me is that it keeps me going back to things I only have vague ideas about. Any reading recommendations on this one?

Matthew 24:33 Fully and completely debunks the claim that near = far.

Not one futurist alive, dispensational or otherwise, interprets "Near" in Matt 24:33 to be "in God Years" even though it came straight from Jesus' (who is God) mouth.

but yet it hasn't happened , in order to say it has , all the prophecies that go with it has to happen as well , safe to say it hasn't happened , Jesus says HE IS COMING SOON or another verse Jesus says "I COME QUICKLY" in reference to his return to His beloved , in the Revelation written 2000 years ago . looks to be His calendar is different than ours :)

Revelation 4 views is probably the best most unbiased commentary one the 4 main approaches.. 1st century fulfillment being one of them.

I agree. But you would not believe how often I've heard lay-people say, trying to defend that it is talking about the end times, "well, a thousand years is as a day to the Lord and a day as a thousand years".

Sometimes it's important to just look at what the bible actually says, within the context of the personality of the God of the WHOLE bible as he relates to mankind in various ages, and then apply my tag line. ;)

Then you need to interpret in the spirit of my tag line. :)

    So when Jesus said this:
    Matthew 24:33
33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors!

Which calendar do you say He was using? His or Ours?

The idea of the European Union being the 10 areas that will be controlled by a leader, who would eventually be revealed as the Anti-Christ, is a 1980's theory. As soon as the EU acquired 11 members it was debunked. Why do people still think that can happen?

Daniel 7:23-24 is quite plain: The fourth kingdom will cover the whole earth. There will be ten kings [Presidents, ruling ten regions] but another leader will arise and take control of it all.
Confirmed by Revelation 17:9-14...the ten kings will confer their power onto the 'beast'.....

If you google 'ten world regions', you will se how the world has already been divided into the future ten areas. This is the aim and object of those promoting a One World Government.
So according to Bible prophecy, an OWG will be formed. It will be necessary in order to regain control of food and fuel supplies, also to suppress the mayhem and general lawlessness resulting from the terrible world changer of the Lord's Day of wrath, the Sixth Seal event of earthquakes, fires, storms and tsunamis resulting from a massive explosion of the suns surface.
This clearly prophesied disaster will destroy all our modern electrical systems and cause cities to become uninhabitable. Jeremiah 4:7
But we Christians will not belong to the OWG, we have another destiny. As the Lord's people, we will go to live in all of the holy Land, Ezekiel 34:11-16, Isaiah 35:1-10, Romans 9:24-26, being the people who will, at last, fulfil God's desire to have His people there to be His witnesses, Isaiah 43:10 and His Light to the nations. Isaiah 49:8, Matthew 5:14
Proved by how the leader of the OWG comes to us, soon after the Gog/ Magog attack is supernaturally defeated and makes a 7 year treaty of peace. Daniel 9:27

It is truly funny when people say that it is all over and done , just hilarious , while Gods word is still be fulfilled , apparently such did not read nor understand how the book ends , or why it was written , everything people desire not to be true they call it allegory or spiritual or anything except truth of what it is such choose to pretend it turns out as they want it to :)

Jesus says He will return SOON! have you seen Him or any news reports that Messiah has returned ?

NO , if you say otherwise you need to show where he is found and when he returned , Obviously scripture is at least 2000 years old so you can't use scripture to prove it :)
