I read the devil is the father of lies,

so if he tempts you and you fall for the temptation,

then he ascends to the heavenly court to accuse you.

you deny it was your fault.

Who is the liar?

Is he not telling the truth?

In Judaism there is no devil, there is the Yetzer Hara,

one,s own evil inclination, it,s aim is to draw a soul away from seeking it,s source, but the tactics are the same or similar.

Yes, I've come across the views on the Yetzer Hara in some of my reading over the past few years. So, would you say you've ever felt "drawn away" by this biblical entity? If so, in general terms, what was your experience (if you wish to share---or maybe you don't, and that's ok)?

O, boy, the list is too long.

But seriously,
let me say this as it has been fresh on my mind,

firstly not all souls are alike, there are kind souls, severe souls some in between.

It will be noticable when the Gödly part of the soul is awakened, and starts to stretch out and reach out to the heavens, so to speak, a longing for home.

That is when it can become rocky,

It can be making an excuse for not fulfilling a mitzvah
when the opportunity was there, it can be all sorts of
ways to disrupt.

But I have been lucky in having such wonderful parents
who taught me to always tell it as it is.

That's for sure! This reminds of an old song from the 70's that had a line in it like this ..."clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am, stuck in the middle with you!" ^_^

I'm so glad that you had parents who could be there for you in that way. That is wonderful, and it can often make quite a difference in how we face the possible disruptions that can prevent us from fulfilling God's Will.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this, Robban. I appreciate it!
