In Acts 2:1-12 the Holy Spirit of God and from God descended into a gathering of believers.

It did not reside in a room or Holy Place in the Jewish Temple as it used to in the times of the ARK.

God's Holy Spirit did not descend INTO the Jewish Temple building in Jerusalem.

In the Old Testament, the GLORY OF THE LORD filled the House of the Lord when God made His presence felt in the Temple.

2 Chronicles 7:1
Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the FIRE came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt-offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of Jehovah filled the house.
2 Chronicles 7:2
And the priests could not enter into the house of Jehovah, because the glory of Jehovah filled Jehovah's house.

2 Chronicles 7:3
And all the children of Israel looked on, when the FIRE came down, and the glory of Jehovah was upon the house; and they bowed themselves
with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and gave thanks unto Jehovah, [saying], For he is good; for his
lovingkindness [endureth] for ever.

1 Kings 8:11
1 Kings 8:10
And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of Jehovah,

1 Kings 8:11
so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for the glory of Jehovah filled the house of Jehovah.

1 Kings 8:12
Then spake Solomon, Jehovah hath said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

ACTS 2:
Acts 2:1
And when the day of Pentecost was now come, they were all together in one place.
And suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the HOUSE where they were sitting.
Acts 2:3
And there appeared unto them tongues parting asunder, like as of FIRE; and it sat upon each one of them.
Acts 2:4
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Similarities Both involved the presence of FIRE

DIFFERENCE-- The Jewish temple in the time of the coming of the Holy Spirit was alien to the

presence of the Glory of God.

The Glory of God did not descend into the Jewish temple structure as it did in King Solomon's TEMPLE.

WHY?

This is very serious.

Greetings Willis,

The Glory of God did not descend into the Jewish temple structure as it did in King Solomon's TEMPLE.

Good topic.

I see the Solomon Temple as being the foreshadowing or the "figure" of the "temple" which was to come - US! (Actually Christ and then later us.)

After the Solomon Temple was destroyed, the Shekanah Glory departed and never returned. I have given that some thought, and here is what I have come up with. The Temple which followed and was built during the time of Nehemiah would also be present during the time of Jesus. And so we see this verse:

John 3:34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

and so:

Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

So the Solomon Temple pointed to the Temple (Naos) of Jesus body in which ALL of God dwelt in Him. So if the Nehemiah Temple were going to remain standing until the time of Jesus, it stands to reason that it would not have the Godhead indwelling it.

Is this your thoughts also?

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

Methink the Temple of God is right in you.

Confirmed without a shadow of doubt.
I agree, we seem to be on the same plain. I do not believe there will be another Temple made with human hands.
