As your article states - surge of infections among the unvaccinated. They didn't take the shot, and their risk was on them. Your last sentence has yet to be proven,

No, that's a fact. The Delta variant, for example, evolved that way. Can you show me who actually said they "knew it all?" Show checkable quotes.

So, what you are saying is everything they have come up and stated as facts or science panned out to prove they were right?

Just checking. No one actually said they knew it all, did they?

lol if you want to go legalistic about my phase

Words have meanings. If you say things you don't mean, people will notice.

There were many in the political realm in the early days casting doubt on the vaccines, and the media lapdogs hurried up and repeated - and validated them. Then you had theories of the source of the virus (most common one as of this moment - but there are others), and claims of how the lab leak was debunked...and then it wasn't. Yet, it didn't stop people from getting kicked off social media for discussing it.

No one really knew if the virus outbreak came directly from infected animals, or had first been isolated in a lab from those animals and somehow got out of the lab. The guys peddling misinformation were usually banned for either stating one or the other as a proven fact, or for conspiracy theories about the virus as a biological weapon, which was patently absurd; it's exactly the opposite of an effective biological weapon.

Agencies like the CDC said once you get past your 2 weeks after you last shot you don't have to wear a mask, and then Fauci comes out doubled masked. 'Science based' agencies say Schools should be opened, and then the political groups said NO its not safe. Vaccinated political figures - plenty of distance away from others - keep masked for the image.

As people learned more over time, the message changed. And it should. No surprise there. It now looks like the Delta variant is dangerous enough that even vaccinated people might need to mask up. Turns out that some of them can still carry the virus, and the Delta variant sheds much more virus particles than previous mutations of the virus.

Those who refuse vaccinations are essentially incubators for new mutations that can produce more virulent forms of the virus.

Actually, your wrong. You didn't have to claim it as fact, or something along the lines of a weapon - which I never really heard about myself. You just had to mention it, and they blocked it. That was in more than one news source HOW could you have missed this story is beyond me? IE Algorithm.

They still mark posts for crazy reasons. I was with a friend of mine today, and one of her groups were discussing laundry. I guess someone's dryer broke, and it was suggested that they hang it out to dry since its warm outside. lol the post was flagged. It was blamed on a wonky algorithm deal later.

If you questioned whether the it escaped from the lab on accident or not? They blocked it. Since, we don't have to many facts - including the other earlier theories - they also should flagged for censorship.

They only reason they stopped is because scientists seem to be leaning that way. You show lack of creditability when you block something, and claimed its debunked (which media did) and it turns out not to be.

As people learned more over time, the message changed. And it should. No surprise there. It now looks like the Delta variant is dangerous enough that even vaccinated people might need to mask up. Turns out that some of them can still carry the virus, and the Delta variant sheds much more virus particles than previous mutations of the virus.

No one is saying the non vaccinated are incubators for new mutations. You want to complain about misinformation, and yet you offer some...okay then.

The message changing at the beginning is understandable, because we knew almost nothing about it. The basics of protection - and other aspects - shouldn't be changing that often anymore. Yet, they do.

Actually, most scientists are saying that the Delta variant is covered by the current vaccine. There is a chance even if vaccinated - although small - you could still catch it, but the symptoms etc are NOT as severe. The same goes for Covid itself - if you catch it after vaccination? You are in less dangerous position of serious issues compared to those that are not.

Another study, cited by Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, suggests that the Pfizer vaccine is approximately 80% effective against preventing infection from Delta, 88% effective at preventing symptomatic disease and 96% effective at preventing hospitalizations caused by the virus.

The article above does cover the other vaccines as well.

Actually, your wrong.

I'm right. Those people got in trouble for making up stories for which they had no evidence. Edit: learn about it here:
Research Guides: Public Health Research Guide: COVID-19 Myths, misinformation

As people learned more over time, the message changed. And it should. No surprise there. It now looks like the Delta variant is dangerous enough that even vaccinated people might need to mask up. Actually, most scientists are saying that the Delta variant is covered by the current vaccine.

It is less effective, but still pretty good. The problem is maybe 6% of vaccinated people can be carrying the Delta variant, and shedding virus at a high level.

No one is saying the non vaccinated are incubators for new mutations.

But that's what they are. You see, the unvaccinated are being infected in increasing numbers. Each infection results in mutations, and sometimes the mutants, as in the case of the Delta variant, are more dangerous. That's what unvaccinated people are doing.

As your article states - surge of infections among the unvaccinated. They didn't take the shot, and their risk was on them.

Except that those people are incubators for new strains that are likely to be more deadly. That's how the Delta Variant got started.

Your last sentence has yet to be proven

Directly observed. New variants can occur unless the virus replicates. It can't replicate unless it infects a person. The number of variants will be proportional to the number of infected people. No point in denial.

Can you show me who actually said they "knew it all?" Show checkable quotes.

So, what you are saying is ...

Sorry, no deflection for you. I'm asking you to support your statement. If you can't just say so.

lol if you want to go legalistic about my phase

If you didn't actually mean it, just say so.

Unvaccinated people are 'variant factories,' infectious diseases expert says
Unvaccinated people do more than merely risk their own health. They're also a risk to everyone if they become infected with coronavirus, infectious disease specialists say.
That's because the only source of new coronavirus variants is the body of an infected person.

Meantime, in several states with large number of unvaccinated people, the pandemic has come back strong:

And deaths are beginning to rise as well. More on that later.

And while DeSantis finally started encouraging vaccinations, his order keeping local governments from taking other actions continues to have consequences:

Sorry why single out "DeSantis"

Because he issued and order stopping local governments from acting to stop the pandemic. And weeks later, Florida has the greatest increase in infections.

California in a 2 week period 171%.. so far seems Florida is much better huh.

Well, let's take a look...

And DeSantis is starting to take political damage from his bungling of the pandemic:

“What I think explains the high infection rate is that we have a governor who has not taken COVID seriously from the very beginning. You know, he is essentially right now treating it like a joke. He’s got campaign merchandise on his Web site saying ‘Don’t Fauci My Florida.’ And we’ve had nearly 40,000 Floridians die of COVID,” she said on CNN. “And look, I would rather see us ‘Fauci our Florida’ than have people go through death by DeSantis,” she added.

Wasserman Schultz blamed DeSantis for banning local governments from implementing mask mandates and social distancing requirements.

“You just can’t make this up. So that’s where the blame lies. At his feet,” she said.

Local governments are implementing mask social distancing rules in defiance of the Governor's ban. It's a growing disaster as the death rate increases.

And recently, DeSantis announced that hospital admissions in Florida had slowed. But...

Today:
Florida breaks Covid hospital admissions record
The number of Covid patients in Florida hospitals has risen to a new high, breaking records set during previous waves before vaccines were available.

US health officials say 11,515 Florida residents are currently in hospital. Many are younger and healthier than patients seen earlier in the pandemic.

On Saturday, Florida set a record for most new infections in a single day.

Republican Governor Ron DeSantis opposes efforts to make vaccines or masks mandatory.

Across the US, one in three new cases last week were recorded in Florida or Texas.

Hospital beds in Florida are quickly filling up. Some have already reached capacity, with patients placed in hallways, lobby waiting areas and makeshift overflow centres.

"We have more Covid patients in our hospital with this surge than we did with the original surge," one hospital official in Tallahassee, Dr Dean Watson, told NBC News.

Florida breaks Covid hospital admissions record

He's run out of excuses. Now he's merely lying about it. He has reason to be scared. It's out of control, threatening to overwhelm the medical system, he's doing nothing, because he's put himself in a political box with his previous statements.

Lockdown, 'taking steps', or whatever you want to call it, just delays the problem. It's a form of can-kicking. The only important thing is that the growth in the number of people who need medical attention does not overwhelm hospital resources.

Look at Australia and New Zealand. At one point their policy of total isolation from the rest of the world looked quite good. But now they're effectively trapped. Every time there's the tiniest breakout, huge numbers of people are forced into oppressive measures.

I don't think DeSantis is completely indifferent to all those deaths. It's just that his political success depends on not doing anything to stop them. It's very difficult to see a problem, when one's own goals depend on not seeing it.

This is the totalitarian "New Normal".

Maybe not after 2022... we'll have to see.

As deaths rise in Florida, and hospitals are now understaffed for the outbreak, DeSantis has finally found the cause of all this misery.

It's the media.

As Florida's COVID conditions worsen, DeSantis finds new scapegoat

Despite a record number of COVID-19 patients at hospitals across the state and dire warnings from the Florida Hospital Association, Gov. Ron DeSantis dismissed capacity concerns as news media "hysteria" and insisted "our hospitals are open for business." His comments came Tuesday as people hospitalized with the coronavirus in Florida rose to an all-time high of 11,515, according to data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

He added, "Obviously the media does hysteria, you try to fear monger."
Maddow Blog | As Florida's COVID conditions worsen, DeSantis finds new scapegoat

Throughout Florida, from Jacksonville to Miami to Tampa, hospitals have become overwhelmed.

Barry Burton, the Pinellas County administrator, told the Tampa Bay Times that some local hospitals are already having to divert ambulances to different locations because of capacity concerns.

There has been a startling rise in the number of children with the virus at hospitals in Miami, many of them requiring intensive care.
Florida breaks record for COVID-19 hospitalizations

DeSantis thinks the problems would all go away, if the media just stopped telling people about it. It would solve his problems, anyway.

Sorry why single out "DeSantis" :) Sites that know all about this virus never blamed anyone.

Floridians have a different opinion...

A new poll from St. Pete Polls finds the Governor’s approval rating has sagged considerably, with more Floridians now saying they do not approve of the job DeSantis is doing than those who say they approve.

The poll, which was conducted Monday and Tuesday among 3,952 likely Florida voters through an automated phone polling system, also found DeSantis falling behind one Democratic rival for the 2022 gubernatorial election, trailing Democratic U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist. DeSantis has a slight lead on Democratic Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried in the poll.

The poll also shows Floridians are not in agreement with DeSantis when it comes to his opposition to mask mandates for school children.

DeSantis drew just 44% of Florida voters saying they approve of the job he is doing, while 49% said they do not approve of his job performance. The rest were unsure.

That is a huge swing from the job approval numbers DeSantis received in a Florida Chamber of Commerce poll in May. That survey gave him a 55% approval for his job performance, with 40% not approving.
