The widespread ignorance of science puts society at risk. Being skeptical about some science hurts no one. I don't believe the media are fair and unbiased but I still watch the news
It is when Christians who have been taught that science is an atheistic conspiracy can be pursuaded to believe that the Covid vaccine contains mind-controlling nanobots programmed to turn them away from Christ or that the vaccine itself has killed hundreds of thousands and the deaths are being covered up, stuff like that...

Qanon is not what most Christians believe neither are conspiracy theories and ridiculous notions like the ones you cite. There are fringe groups in all walks of life

Depends on the "some", and the reasons.

The whole anti science attitude of the creationists
is a danger to society. I think you are starting to see that.

Note plz that " origin of everything " is no more to,do with
evolution than it does piano lessons.
Not really because ever since the big bang, the building blocks of everything we know was set into motion. Evolution began with a single cell organism that came from the water which was only available on the "goldilocks" planet. No goldilocks, no evolution. The whole thing was set in motion when the Earth was formed. If the Earth hadn't formed the way it did, we would not be here. So IMO there is a connection to the creation of everything. Kind of like it was all part of one big plan.

I am not a YEC. I simply said I don't know. Is there anything wrong with questioning what you are told and what you read instead of blindly accepting everything as a fact?

All of that is obvious but the wild leap to into the
Supernatural, an eternal being greaterthan the universe?
Kind of like insensible.

And it's not the same as the Intelligent Design Meyer is pushing, either. The notion that life was "designed" by a creator is one common to all theists, even those who reject the ID of the Discovery Institute as the fraud that it is.

Nobody is expecting you to blindly accept everything as "a fact." We only hope to illuminate your blindness a little. Right now you don't seem to know enough about the science involved to have any opinion about evolution at all.

Does that mean they all believe in conspiracy theories?

I gotta go now. But i didnt say that.

Theres all kinds of creos.

But in common they have this-
It is impossible to be a well informed
creationist who is intellectually honest.

Not necessarily evolution but abiogenesis as someone pointed out earlier. I need to thank him for the distinction.

Good. What's wrong with abiogenesis? Right now there is no complete or coherent theory, so there shouldn't be much to criticize. There is some interesting research going on. What can you say about that?

The view that life was designed by an intelligent mind is not the same as Biblical creationism

Theoretically, but the ID movement is crypto-creationism. They are all Christians pretending that there might be some hypothetical "designer" that isn't their god (but definitely, secretly is) so they can sucker the legal system into thinking it isn't just religion. The mask is off and their deception is revealed.

I don't believe life formed by random chance. Everything just happened to be in place for this to happen. I don't think it's a coincidence the earth is just the right distance from the sun and all the elements to support life just happen to be present and there is just enough gravity to keep us from floating off. I don't think it's a coincidence

Back? I have work to do and soon I am going to do some more. Then there will be hours without a posting. Then maybe some posting. Then sleep. I rarely post while sleeping...
