Jesus accepted the cup delivered unto Him to fulfill His Father’s Will
John 18:11. Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath:
the cup which my Father has given me, shall I not drink it?
Accepting The Father's Will is what we must do also.
Matthew 20:23. And he said unto them, You shall drink indeed of my cup
and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my
right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but for whom it is prepared
by my Father.
The Lord presents His Cup unto His disciples.
John 15:
18 If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.
19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you
are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
20 Remember the word that I said to you, A servant is not greater than his master.
If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you.
If they keep My word, they will keep yours also.
21 But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because
they do not know Him who sent Me.
22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin,
but now they have no cloak for their sin.
23 He who hates Me hates My Father also.
24 If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have
no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father.
25 But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law,
They hated Me without a cause.
The Cup of Salvation is a Cup of Rejoicing in His Name
Psalm 116:
12 What shall I render to the Lord for all His benefits toward me?
13 I will take up the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.
14 I will pay my vows to the Lord now in the presence of all His people.
15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.
