The CONTEXT of 1 Peter 4:17-18
--------------------------------------

For the time is come that Judgment must BEGIN at the House of God
[with both the "wheat" and "tares"]: and if it [God's Judgment] FIRST
begin with us [begins with the saved "wheat"], what shall the end be of
them that obey not the Gospel of God [the unsaved "tares"] 18 And
if the righteous [the saved "wheat"] scarcely be saved, where shall the
ungodly and the sinner [the unsaved "tares"] appear?

The purpose of the Great Tribulation "Kingdom of Heaven" [Mat 25:1]
was to (first) bring Judgment on the "Wise Virgins", or the Last Saints.

This is shown in 1 Peter 4 as being both the "us" [in verse 17] and then
as "the righteous" [in verse 18].

Then, after Judgment on the "Wise Virgins" is finished, God separates
the "wheat and tares" and brings Judgment on the "Anti-Christ" and
on the "Foolish Virgins" (the Beast)... which are represented by "them
that obey not the Gospel of God
" [in verse 17] and then by
"the ungodly and and the sinner" [in verse 18].

After the Great Commission is finished (after all of "His sheep" are saved)
Then God brings Judgment on the world... but it's a process which follows
this pattern:

(1) First God brings Judgment on "the House of God"
The Last Saints (the wise virgins of Mat 25:1-13) are Judged during the
First Revelation Beast, the First Woe or the Fifth Trumpet. Then the last
"tares" (the foolish virgins) are Judged during the Second Revelation
Beast, the Second Woe or the Sixth Trumpet Judgment.

(2) It is important to understand the Last Saints are called to
"Come-up Hither" BEFORE the Second Woe is finished [Rev 11:12]
this is also shown when the Last Saints are told to "Come out of her
My people
" [Rev 18:4]

(3) God then destroys "Babylon" and all the "foolish virgins" in the
Second Revelation Beast.

Rev 19:20
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet
that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that
had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his
image. These both [the False Prophet and the Beast] were cast alive
into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

It is important to understand the EVENT shown in Rev 19:20
is the SAME EVENT shown in Dan 7:11-12

Dan 7:11
I beheld then because of the voice of the great words
which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his
body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. 12 As concerning
the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet
their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

(4) Then there's a relatively brief period of time on earth AFTER the
end of the Second Woe... but BEFORE the start of the Third Woe.

Rev 11:14 The second woe is past; and, behold,
the third woe cometh quickly.

(5) At the beginning of the Third Woe (as the Seventh Trumpet sounds)
God destroys Satan and the (physical/political) "Kingdoms of Man" and
they are cast into the Lake-of-Fire to JOIN THE REVELATION BEAST.

Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of
fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall
be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

(6) So there is a "Season and Time" [Dan 7:11-12] or a period
called the "time-of-the-end" [Dan 12:8-10] AFTER the Revelation
Beast is destroyed but BEFORE Satan and his (physical/political)
"Kingdoms of Man" JOIN THE REVELATION BEAST in the Lake.

This "Season and Time" or "time-of-the-end" is the period AFTER
the Second Woe is past... but BEFORE the Third Woe begins
[Rev 11:14 above].

It is the period AFTER Rev 19:20 but BEFORE Rev 20:10
