According to the World Health Organization, 491.5 million people are living with HSV-2, an incurable STD that causes painful blisters on the genitals. It's easily transmitted from skin-to-skin contact, and it never goes away.

In the US alone, 1.2 million Americans have HIV. They will all eventually die an agonizing death from AIDS. In fact, 38 million people across the world have HIV, and since it's an incurable STD that will go on forever, it stands to reason that in the far future up to a billion people will die from AIDS.

Rich people like Bill Gates are donating millions of dollars to find a cure for HIV/AIDS. However, a cure will never be found, even if over a trillion dollars are spent trying in futility to find a cure.

Do you know what the best solution is to the global STD problem is? It isn't wasting millions of dollars trying to cure that which cannot be cured. There is a far better solution, a Christian solution: abstinence, which has a 100% effectiveness rate at preventing STDs.

1 Corinthians 6:18 says we Christians must avoid sexual immorality at all costs. Also, Deuteronomy 28:27 spells it out really clearly: there is no cure for these kinds of diseases. Therefore, we must be chaste until God brings us out life-time spouse. That is the only solution to the global STD problem.

Abstinence is good. Please allow me though, to add this one bit, just to encourage someone out there who might already be unwell; when the Divine Physician arrives at the scene of one's predicament, their illnesses bow. Healing isn't just for characters mentioned in the bible. It is ours too today as children of God only if we believe.

I must say we Christians are way too hand shaky. They get us on the way in, and then later again they interrupt the service for some more awkward random hand shaking with relative strangers. Hopefully those times are past, but I'm sure there will be resistance to abolishing that unhealthy practice.

Good insight, but the chances of acquiring whitlow from handshaking are super minimal.

That's good to know. I just did a little research and found out HPV can be transmitted thru handshaking. That's an std, sort of.

Deuteronomy 28:27 does not state that STDs cannot or will not be cured. Reading all of chapter 28 reveals that diseases would be one of the penalties that would befall Israel if Israel disobeyed the Law. Others are war, rape, robbery, slavery. These are part of the curse of the Law, which Christians are not under thanks to Christ (Galatians 3:10-14). So there is most certainly room for believing that STDs which we cannot cure today could be cured within a hundred years.

This isn't to say that abstinence until marriage and faithfulness within marriage aren't the best ways to avoid an STD. They are, and for Christians, they're required.
