And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
The Lord comes to open our minds to the Scriptures and we have God’s witness within our very hearts as our heart burns within us with His fire. Let us not quench the Spirit but fan the flames and rejoice in what we hear Him saying. Let us not be found departing from what we hear the Spirit saying with an evil heart of unbelief.... a hardening of the heart.
Luke 24:32-36 KJV
(32) And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
(33) And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,
The Lord IS RISEN indeed and has appeared to “Simon” which means “hearing”.
We hear His voice from heaven and we show we know Him by keeping the “feast” of brotherly love towards those “strangers” whom He sends out to speak His words of spirit and life. Let us remember to let brotherly love continue and entertain strangers and their words….the words of the Lord (the “angels” = the Lord’s words of spirit and life). We must take heed on how we hear and more shall be given.
(34) Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.
(35) And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
(36) And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
We hear His voice from heaven….
2 Peter 1:16-21 KJV
(16) For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
(17) For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
(18) And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
…and we have a more sure word of prophecy of the Scriptures and we do well to take heed to it.
The voice of the Lord causes the light to shine in a dark place…our very own darkened hearts. It is a more sure word…a more sure witness within our very hearts. The “day dawns” and the “day star”…that is, the MORNING STAR…arises in our hearts when we hear His voice. This is the sign of the Son of man who is in heaven as He opens up the Scriptures to our hearing ears and hearts.
(19) We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
(20) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
We hear His voice as men are moved by the Holy Spirit to speak His words of life and spirit and those who hear what the Spirit is saying has the witness of the Lord within their own hearts: the rising of the bright and MORNING STAR !
(21) For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
He sends His messenger ( a fellow brother and servant in the Lord) to testify unto us these things in the churches.
Although we receive the witness of men, the rising bright and morning star is an unmistakable witness of the Son of man in heaven. We hear His voice and the witness of Him is within our very own hearts: the bright and morning star. He is the bright and morning star rising in our hearts and we are to take heed on how we hear.
Revelation 22:16-17 KJV
(16) I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
We must be found of Him being inviting to a “stranger” (come…. abide) whom He sends out to testify of these things to the called-out.
(17) And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
The 2 disciples who were going toward Emmaus were inviting to the “stranger”…. Jesus: Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
Luke 24:27-31 KJV
(27) And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
(28) And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
(29) But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
They kept the feast of brotherly love…
(30) And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
(31) And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
Lot was inviting to the two angels…messengers: Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways.
Genesis 19:1-3 KJV
(1) And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;
(2) And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.
He did keep the “feast” of brotherly love…
(3) And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.
Abraham did entertain strangers…the three men. He was inviting to them: Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree: And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant.
Genesis 18:1-8 KJV
(1) And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
(2) And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,
(3) And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:
(4) Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:
(5) And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.
(6) And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth.
Abraham served “meat” in due season…..
(7) And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it.
(8) And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.
We must also be ready for in such an hour we think not does the Son of man come. Happy is the faithful and wise servant whom He finds giving meat in due season.
Matthew 24:44-47 KJV
(44) Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
(45) Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
(46) Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
(47) Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
God commanded the light to shine out of darkness and has shined in our very own hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:5-7 KJV
(5) For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
(6) For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
(7) But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
We are to walk as children of the Light while the Light is with us. If we do not believe, then the darkness comes upon us. He that hates his brother walks in darkness.
John 12:35-38 KJV
(35) Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
(36) While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
(37) But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:
(38) That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
Let us not follow after others who will hear the Spirit but not be found walking in the Light. Let us remember to let brotherly love continue.
Ephesians 5:6-10 KJV
(6) Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
(7) Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
(8) For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
(9) (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth
(10) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
We were once darkness. We once lived in the churches of men where there is envy, strife, hatred of one another, being deceived, etc. The earth BECAME without form and void as men’s foolish hearts were darkened.
Although God created the heavens and the earth….the invisible things of Him (His eternal power and Godhead) from the creation of the world are clearly seen being understood by the things that were made …they knew not God nor glorified Him as God neither were thankful but BECAME VAIN in their imaginations and their foolish heart was darkened. And the earth BECAME without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep…the heart.
Romans 1:19-25 KJV
(19) Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
(20) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
(21) Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
(22) Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
They change the glory of the incorruptible God for the image made like to corruptible man….that is, MONEY.
The outside world sees the preaching for money going on inside the churches and they blaspheme His holy name when they should be glorifying Him.
Men preaching for money are selling “peace, peace”..doves…where there is none. They are making merchandise of the sheep (the fourfooted beasts) with their deceptive handling of the Word of God for money’s sake. They go after the earthly things….what to eat, what to drink, what to wear. They go upon their own belly that they are serving.
(23) And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
(24) Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
They change the truth of God into the lie an worship and serve the ordinance of men more than the Creator. They worship Him in vain while they serve the handwriting of church dogmas more than the Lord's Holy Commandment to have love for one another. They set aside His commandment in order to keep the doctrines and commandments of men.
(25) Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Men’s heart was darkened as we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving many lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
Titus 3:1-8 KJV
(1) Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
(2) To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
(3) For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
But God’s love and kindness toward men appears. His mercy saves us by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. We are to hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches of men who do not have the knowledge of God.
(4) But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
(5) Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
(6) Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
(7) That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
(8) This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
We were once led astray by false prophets into the churches of men where there is no peace. They lead us away from the Way that leads to His eternal life in this earth and down the broad way to the destruction of our mortal bodies. But the Lord in His kindness, love and mercy saves us from the tribulation of these days.
We hear His voice and the “sign of the Son of man” who is in heaven “appears”…that is, SHINES. That shining of the bright and morning star is within our very hearts. It is the sign within us of the Son of man who is in heaven whose voice we hear.
We who hear and believe shall rejoice when we hear His voice. But the “tribes of the earth” shall mourn. Their joy will turn to gloom.
Matthew 24:29-31 KJV
(29) Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
(30) And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
The “tribes of the earth” will not deaden their members (tongues) which are upon the earth as they will behave badly towards what they hear. They will mourn what they hear and speak out in evil in their earthly wisdom…in their wrath, malice, blasphemy. They will mourn when others shall believe in what they hear and will not stay in their churches and "buy" what they preach.
Colossians 3:1-8 KJV
(1) If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
(2) Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
(3) For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
(4) When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
(5) Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
(6) For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
(7) In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
(8) But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
For those who peddle the Word of God for money’s sake, what they hear will be the savor of death unto death. They will not want to hear His knowledge being made manifest to their ears….yet, there will be many believers who will be departing from their churches giving them grief.
2 Corinthians 2:14-17 KJV
(14) Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
(15) For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
(16) To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
(17) For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
The Day shall come upon them unaware….the Day they hear His voice open up the Scriptures to their ears. Those who “dwell on the earth”…dwelling in earthly wisdom: envy, strife, covetousness, hatefulness, etc….shall be caught unawares by a “stranger” that comes across their path and speaks His words to their ears.
They will be found with their hearts overcharged with surfeiting and “drunkenness” (wine of wrath) and the cares of this life. They will be found more worried about getting paid to preach in order to get their earthly needs met …speaking evil against one that comes along speaking His words without charge.
We are to "watch"...awake to His righteousness and "pray"...use meek words towards the hearing of the Son of man in heaven.
Luke 21:33-36 KJV
(33) Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
(34) And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
(35) For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
(36) Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
