All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

All scripture including the Parables! so get milking :D

I recall many a time a pastor would say to not use parables for teaching reasons, especially when it went against his thesis. If there is no disagreement, then fine.
    .
But you know, science and it's observations are very parable worthy.

I would guess you are listening to the wrong pastors; pay more attention to The Shepherd of the flock.
Not sure what science has to do with anything here......

I don't really pay attention to them.

Regarding science, it is simply making observations about the creation, these observations when used to explain some Godly piece of wisdom ... is a parable.

Did you know these "parables" are useful talking points when conversing with other deists of other religions?

These verses display how thorough God is when laying down rules so we don't get sick eating what cannot be preserved without the right technology. The levite wasn't only a health worker but also inspected buildings to ensure they were safe to dwell. All scripture is useful in some way or another, in this case it shows me the compassion of God to not let them die from their ignorance being slaves straight outta egypt.

I see it as how God sets Israel apart from the other nations of that day....as He said He would.....

People are like waters as the prophets indicate. So ... going back to day two of the creation ... can you say why God took the identical waters and separated them from the other identical waters? Because the setting apart seems to be related to that.

The parables in the new testament are based on the creation, the prophets are similar as they speak in creation metaphor.

You got some examples or are you just speaking metaphorically?

Matthew 13 is a good example of parables.

Isaiah 8 and Isaiah 24 use the keyword "flood" to talk about an invasion.

Passages related to the "cedars of lebanon" come to mind, but we're talking about water at the moment.

Yes I love to tell the parable of the scientist making something from nothing. I would share here but the punch line is only understood in the original Gaelic.

Good point. The Israelites did not have refrigeration. YHWH was keeping His flock from getting sick.
