Only need to if they are a member of a religion that denies Jesus as Almighty God

Some people study all religions just to learn what they teach/believe

Sleeping. It doesn't matter where they come from they are sleeping, the 1 Cor 15 version tells us those that sleep will arise when Jesus blows the Trumpet.

1 Cor. 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

He's in the place of the dead, and is brought back alive in Isaiah 14:19-20. It is the strong delusion that God sends to them who believed the man of sin's claim to be God in the first place.

It's telling you why. Because he betrays his land and his people - as they thought he was the messiah, until suddenly he goes into the temple, sits, claims to be God. And for that act, he ends up in hell because in Ezekiel 28:1-10 God brings strangers against him to kill him.

He will be the 7th king of the Roman Empire, leader of the EU. Then will be perceived to be the messiah by the Jews. Becomes the Antichrist. Then suddenly goes into the temple, sits, claims to be God (most likely to claim to have achieved God-hood). The Jews reject him, but some people buy into it. God has him killed. Then brings him back to life, the strong delusion. He is then the beast, the 8th king of the Roman Empire - because his powerbase kingdom will be that of EU.

So I asked you if you were posing a question, to which you responded with a completely unrelated statement. I'm not sure if ironic is the right term but the fact that I posed a question to you, asking if you had posed a question, and you were unable to answer my question, aka tell me if you were asking a question, in some strange way still seems to actually answer my question. And the answer is that you don't know. And now I don't know either.

Thanks for playing. That was fun. Let's move on.

Elijah did not go to the third heaven in the whirlwind. He went to the first heaven. Aka, the sky. Then he fell back down to the earth and went on to live a long a lonely life, sans mantle which was picked up by Elisha.

We know this because king Jeroham who began his reign five years after the whirlwind, received a letter from Elijah condemning him for killing his brothers when he became king. 2 Chronicles 21:12-15

Seriously though , there is no evidence Elijah came back to earth , This is one of those times where you have to ask , can God lie ? No. Can man lie ? Yes ,
Compare to what is the character of God ?, what reason is there for God to send Elijah back to earth and what scripture says that he did ?
Why would God say he took Elijah to heaven if he did not ?
It is simply mans unwillingness/inability to accept that what God says is true and instead of accepting it , look for some way to rationalize that it did not happen as God said it did .
Elijah was a true prophet of God - he knew and foretold what the future would bring - that is the role of a true prophet
The more likely and probable thing is that Elijah wrote that letter before he went up in the whirlwind and it either did not get delivered for a long time afterward or was set aside and misplaced - or it simply could be the timing of how it was that Chronicles was written

Even in modern day mail delivery it is common that mail may not ever reach it's destination or can be delayed by being sent to the wrong address and then dependent on if and when the wrong recipient gets around to putting it back into the mail
I receive mail both at my house and PO Box that are addressed to people that lived here years ago
There was recently a news story about a WW2 war veteran that was given a medal of honor and a letter about his being chosen for it was sent out in the mail while he was in the war and just recently received it in the mail as it was lost in the mail for 35 years
Again Compare to what is the character of God to that of man , commentaries are written by men giving their opinion of what they think , which is often just supposition

Aren't you the one who says we should study? Yet here you are saying there's no evidence, when there is in fact irrefutable proof.

First of all, we know that Elisha had already taken the mantle of prophet from Elijah during the reign of Joram son of Ahab. 2 Kings 3.

Joram son of Ahab became king over Israel in Samaria during the eighteenth year of Judah’s King Jehoshaphat and reigned 12 years.

Immediately after king Joram began to reign (2 Kings 1), Elijah was taken up in the whirlwind (2 Kings 2). We know this not only because of the order of the book of 2nd Kings (chapter 2 comes after chapter 1) but also because it's confirmed in chapter 3 that Elisha is the new prophet.

11 But Jehoshaphat said, “Isn’t there a prophet of the Lord here? Let’s inquire of Yahweh through him.” One of the servants of the king of Israel answered, “Elisha son of Shaphat, who used to pour water on Elijah’s hands, is here.”

Elisha had picked up the mantle (literally) when Elijah was taken by the whirlwind.

    2 Kings 2:13
Elisha picked up the mantle that had fallen off Elijah and went back and stood on the bank of the Jordan.

Five years into the reign of King Joram of Israel (and five years after the whirlwind), a new king began his reign in Judah (in place of Jehosophat). This King's name was Jeroham.

    2 Kings 8:16
In the fifth year of Joram son of Ahab king of Israel, when Jehoshaphat was king of Judah, Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat began his reign as king of Judah.

Now this next verse is the key. One of the things he did as King was to kill his brothers so that they couldn't claim the throne.

    2 Chronicles 21:4
When Jehoram had established himself over his father’s kingdom, he strengthened his position by killing with the sword all his brothers as well as some of the princes of Israel.

And that was when Elijah wrote the letter.

    2 Chronicles 21:12-15
Jehoram received a letter from Elijah the prophet, which said:

“This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: ‘You have not followed the ways of your father Jehoshaphat or of Asa king of Judah. 13 But you have followed the ways of the kings of Israel, and you have led Judah and the people of Jerusalem to prostitute themselves, just as the house of Ahab did. You have also murdered your own brothers, members of your own family, men who were better than you. 14 So now the Lord is about to strike your people, your sons, your wives and everything that is yours, with a heavy blow. 15 You yourself will be very ill with a lingering disease of the bowels, until the disease causes your bowels to come out.’”

The letter proves that Elijah was alive after king Jehoram of Israel killed his own brothers, and that happened five years after king Joram of Judah began to reign, which is exactly when Elijah was taken up in the whirlwind.

Bottom line, Elijah survived the whirlwind. Unless you suppose that Elijah sent that letter from the third heaven down to earth, but I'm not sure the post man travels out that way.

The whirlwind was not a tornado or some natural disaster that he would survive -
it was how Elijah was transported up into heaven

reread my post -IF Elijah was returned to earth we would have scripture that says that -
    Read the entire chapter 2
    2King2
2 When the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind, Elijah and Elisha were on their way from Gilgal.

3 The company of the prophets at Bethel came out to Elisha and asked, “Do you know that the Lord is going to take your master from you today?”

“Yes, I know,” Elisha replied, “so be quiet.”

“Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit,” Elisha replied.

10 “You have asked a difficult thing,” Elijah said, “yet if you see me when I am taken from you, it will be yours—otherwise, it will not.”

11 As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.

12 Elisha saw this and cried out, “My father! My father! The chariots and horsemen of Israel!” And Elisha saw him no more. Then he took hold of his garment and tore it in two.

Elijah was expecting to be taken
There is no scripture evidence that Elijah ever returned to the earth - None
to say the letter is proof is nothing more that supposition, -the most likely thing is that Elijah wrote the prophecy down and sent it in a letter prior to this event of Elijah being taken , that was either somehow delayed in delivering , sent to the wrong person , was misplaced

Lol. You're really grasping at straws now aren't you?

Don't you know that Jesus said no man has ascended up to heaven?

your ship sank when you refused to acknowledge that Elijah and Elisha and the other 50 knew Elijah was going to be taken up into heaven that very day - you did not study that it was Gods intention to do that - as such it is plain and simple elementary level understanding that God took Elijah up into heaven exactly as the scripture said would happen - but you deny that and say Elijah fell back to earth

it be a mystery why that letter came later , it would require an in
depth study to see if there is any scripture that can explain it -obviously you are not going to do it ;)

Apparently you Choose Not to believe God did what he said he will do :)

Of course Elijah knew he was going to be taken up. Do you think I haven't read the account? Did I ever deny that the event was predicted? Of course not. As usual you make assumptions about what I believe, admit or deny.

You throw these unimportant details at me as if that changes anything. The fact is Elijah was alive five years after the whirlwind and the scriptures prove it.

Yes, the Lord took Elijah away from Elisha. Yes, they were separated by a chariot of fire. Yes, they knew it was going to happen. None of that requires Elijah to have gone up to heaven and none of that changes the fact that Elijah wrote a letter five years after the whirlwind.

Don't fight the truth. Just accept it. Swallow your pride and admit that you learned something today. It happens. You should be happy.

Get over yourself and your pride

The chapter is very CLEAR God took Elijah up to heaven right in front of Elisha
It DID happen - the fact that God took Elijah to heaven has nothing to do with the letter
You assume that Elijah was on earth but there is no scripture that ever mentions Elijah coming to earth or being on earth after God took him to heaven- you assume only because this letter is mentioned but not when it was written
You choose to deny Gods word that God took Elijah to heaven
You choose to be blind :)

The Old Testament is telling me nothing about where New Testament Saints are sleeping.

No Anti-Christ becomes a King of Israel, that just not factual.

Elijah never left earth. Just as Jesus said.

You seem to be trying really hard to continue to believe Elijah went to heaven. Why is that? Is it important to you that he went to heaven?

False Fictitious completely untrue - not one word of the bible supports this nonsense

    2King2
2 When the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind, Elijah and Elisha were on their way from Gilgal.

here Elijah is telling Elisha if you see me taken then it is your - If not it will not be

Elisha did see Elijah taken up into heaven

10 “You have asked a difficult thing,” Elijah said, “yet if you see me when I am taken from you, it will be yours—otherwise, it will not.”

suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.

You choose to deny the Word of God
