  1. Welcome to Christian Forums, a forum to discuss Christianity in a friendly surrounding.

Your voice is missing! You will need to register to be able to join in fellowship with Christians all over the world.

We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!

  2. The forums in the Christian Congregations category are now open only to Christian members. Please review our current Faith Groups list for information on which faith groups are considered to be Christian faiths. Christian members please remember to read the Statement of Purpose threads for each forum within Christian Congregations before posting in the forum.
  3. Please note there is a new rule regarding the posting of videos. It reads, "Post a summary of the videos you post . An exception can be made for music videos.". Unless you are simply sharing music, please post a summary, or the gist, of the video you wish to share.
  4. There have been some changes in the Life Stages section involving the following forums: Roaring 20s, Terrific Thirties, Fabulous Forties, and Golden Eagles. They are changed to Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Golden Eagles will have a slight change.
  5. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.
  7. There has been an addition to the announcement regarding unacceptable nick names. The phrase "Let's go Brandon" actually stands for a profanity and will be seen as a violation of the profanity rule in the future.

Christmas is a much better holiday. 4 reals.idk when I was a kid we used to Celebrate Thanksgiving in October AND in November. Reason being the Canadian Thanksgiving Is in October and we used to celebrate Thanksgiving with my mom's parents (who lived in the States) and sometimes with my dads parents or alone.

Now all of my grandparents are Deceased expect for my moms mother she is the only one left. Anyway I've been practicing solo and eating my own Thanksgiving and Christmas since I got married pretty much. Sometimes I'll go to moms for Thanksgiving but not oftenl

Christmas is much more fun. Both of my home Countries celebrate it on the same day. It's Jesus's Birthday (which I didn't learn until I was 16. My parents celebrated often the Pagan parts of Christmas despite my mother claiming to be Catholic.) I have to admit I liked Christmas for the presents until I reached the age of reason (age 25 or so). I haven't given out Christmas presents to my family almost ever and my wife and I exchanged presents on our first exams together and thays it.

That being said, Happy thanksgiving everyone!

I do love Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because of food. Lol. Don't get me wrong, I'm very thankful for God's manifold blessings, but the food is very good. In fact, this is the only time of year I eat turkey and stuffing. Thank you, @Minister JEB

Honestly, I admire your sincerity on the matter of food. Some people would rather act otherwise, but we know that food makes it even more special.

You're very correct about Christmas. All the same, this Thanksgiving Day is very special too.

The Pilgrims left England on board the Mayflower and arrived in Plymouth, Massachusetts north of Cape Cod in 1620. They disembarked at Plymouth Rock. The Indians taught them how to plant corn. Corn is native to America. They did not kill each other. When autumn came the pilgrims had a community feast and thanked God for their blessings. Plymouth Rock is still there.

They built a replica of the Mayflower ship for tourists. It is docked at Plymouth, MA. Photo from Wikipedia.

Abraham Lincoln made Thanksgiving a national holiday. Families reunited to eat and give thanks. The Sunday after Thanksgiving is the busiest airport day of the year. I am supposed to meet family for a Thanksgiving meal today.

Definitely. Just wish my mother would chill about Covid so I could spend a Thanksgiving with her for once. I haven't seen my grandmother or her in years.

Thanksgiving is all about food and food being a blessing from God.

Thanksgiving is okay to me. My parent like the turkey, yams and football. And must have a Thanksgiving dinner. If it wasn't for my parents, I would eat Chinese food or something else. I have no emotional attachment to the pilgrims at all. And neither do my parents. I have family that are native American, So I don't go into the Thanksgiving story.

My parents, brother and I have been vaccinated. As for other family members. That haven't been vaccinated. I rather stay away from them. As for strangers I see no reason to go around them.

Yeah my grandmother is my only living grandparent. Only reason I'd care. I haven't seen her since a few years before covid hit. She hasn't been doing well physically so she stopped coming to my mom's for dinner. Only times I really got to see her aside from when my wife and I got married. It's kind of sad.

But yeah I'd stay away from strangers during this epidemic. Easy way to get really sick.

And family members, that refuse to get COVID-19 vaccinated. I trust strangers, as much as I trust certain family members. That would have no problem inviting me to their house. If they had COVID-19.

Sorry to hear that. Whole family is getting together but we are all vaccinated and at least half of us are boosted already.
