A 19-year-old man has died after shots were fired into a crowd of people protesting against the death of unarmed black man George Floyd.

A 19-year-old man is dead after shots were fired into crowds in Detroit protesting police brutality, police say.

The man was shot about 11:30 p.m. near Congress and Randolph streets, according to a release from the Detroit Police Department.

Police believe an unknown suspect in a gray Dodge Durango pulled up and fired into the crowd, then fled. The 19-year-old died at a hospital.

What encourages me, are the many chiefs of police and sheriffs around the country who are denouncing the murder of George Floyd, and calling for the arrest and prosecution of the perps.

We've made some progress. The problem, as I see it, is that decent cops are afraid to turn in the few criminals among them, for fear of retaliation, or have been taught by higher-ups that police must back each other up, regardless of the behavior of a police officer.

And yes, there are those in the black community who are calling for revenge and who hate white people. Notice that Floyd's family has condemned the rioting, even as they have expressed appreciation for the peaceful protestors.

And Trump and his ilk, who denounced peaceful protest, and have now advocated violence as a solution to violence, are right in bed with the rioters.
