    I wouldn't have problem with any of my children reading this book. My two oldest already understand what homosexuality is.

    The way some people talk about homosexuals you would think they were a sub species of the human race! But when all said and done, they are people just like anyone else. No one knows when a child is born what their sexual orientation may be. It must be truly awful for a gay person to be born into a rabidly homophobic family! Teaching our children about sexual orientation is a good thing as it helps them to respect others who are different to themselves.

    The nonspecific objection was that the level of "discussion" had reached such a low ebb, that the exchanging names of porn stars, instead of addressing the topic at hand, was unworthy example set by even those most irresponsible members of society - ADULTS!!! :confused:

    Homosexuality is no worse than any other sin, however, it has become so accepted that anyone who denounces this sin is labled homophobic as seen above. Homosexuals are not different. Unfortunately it's impossible to come out of sin when one does not know what sin is. Sexuality is a gift from God and like all God's creations, Satan perverts it into evil. I believe more homosexuals would be freed from this sin, but they are mocked for trying, told they aren't strong enough to resist this particualar sin. The growing acceptance of sinful behavior is a sign of the endtimes.

    2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

    1 ¶ This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
    2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves.....
    ...5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

    12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
    13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
    14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned ...
    15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
    16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

    Chapter 4;
    3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
    4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

    All a bit depressing and very true of life today but Paul finishes on this note ,
    8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

    Yeha, but see, if I was gay, I wouldn't want to be around you. If I was gluttonous, I wouldn't care. And that is because YOU (and those on the "anti gay" side) make being gay out to be horrible and the other sins, forgotten. Maybe you should rise above what is worldly and treat all those who you think sin like Jesus would.

    growing acceptance of sinful behavior gonna lead to endtimes...rofl. i hate when i see these comments. would you really like to go back to a time when witches were killed, and women and blacks were beated and owned?

    Thank you TwinCrier, these verses so summerize the journey of the lesbian in a committed relationship as they follow Jesus Christ.

    Thank you for helping me to remember that the Christian journey is not one of bitterness and that the hardening of hearts and the desire for condemnation is not between lesbians and other Christians but rather between people and thier relationship with God.

    Thank you also for reminding me that it is in the scripture that God shows again and again the love for His people, coming to set the prisoner free and give hope to those without hope, to aid the suffering, the infirmed, those who hunger and thirst.

    Thanks to your inspiration I shall try to look beyond those who would turn scripture to that of condemnation and hatred, to make of the bible a book of death rather than life.

    I've got to interject here.
    Why are Christians afraid of the end times? We should be looking forward to it.
    Not to say that we should try to expedite it but we really shouldn't be speaking of it like it's a terrible thing. Unless, of course, you they don't believe in the rapture or Jesus reigning over the earth etc...

    Just a thought...carry on.

    Oh yeah, hi Squishy.

    You're in a mood aren't you?
    It saddens our heart to see sin in the world. But we need to quit using "The End Times" as a scare tactic toward sinners. If someone doesn't believe in God then they don't believe in the end times. So our Christian manipulation is ineffective.
    (I'm sure I'll get some PMs for that one) :p

    This is waaaaaaaaaaay off topic, I'm sorry I think I led it that way.

    Back to the OP.
    Book burnings, witch burnings, children being forced into a life of homosexuality through subliminal manipulation etc...

    Discuss.

    I think if you throw an "about" in their between kids and homosexuality, it would be more accurate. The book is not aimed to teach them how to be gay. It's actually a cute book.

    Moving on haven't read the thread but I know the arguements by heart....

    "But you can't teach kids being a homosexual is ok", sure you can, just as much as you can teach them that being a atheist, agnostic, a Moron, a Baptist, a Catholic, or whatever goes against YOUR particular beliefs is ok. It might not be ok for YOU to be a homosexual, it might go against YOUR beliefs, but the violence and hate has to stop somewhwere and it can only be done through education. Stonewall happened over 30 years ago, and we are still trying to stop the violence, I don't see it ever stopping. YOU don't want the book out there, fine take some personal resposibility and teach the difference between tolerance and acceptance. YOU can tolerate the fact that someone else believes something YOU don't, without accepting their beliefs.

    Teach your children that when they encounter someone that simply does not share their beliefs, that the only course of action they should take is to go home and pray that God's will is carried out.

    "And truth, Is kind of crazy. Like how we’ve got this history trying to lose itself, prove its self-worth like a theorum. Well, it don’t take a mathematician to see you can’t bully circles into two straight lines. You can’t make equal signs out of things that ain’t equal."

    Yes, homosexuality is certainly more accepted than gluttony, sloth, envy, anger, lust, greed and pride!! I mean, I can't get over the public outcry about these viles sins, and the shame they bring on god. Its like an anti-greed/pride/envy/lust/sloth/anger/gluttony media blitz. Its amazing the lengths at which people go to point out these travesties and attack these sinners for the disgrace they bring on god.....and all the while, these silly homosexuals get open acceptance and are virtually ignored as far as sinners go. :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

    That, my dear, is one of the most beautiful testimonies to the Christian walk I have ever seen on this board. Thank you for sharing it. May the God who loves me and you sustain you and keep you in His holy love!

    It only seems like those sins are being ignored when they aren't your vice, or a vice you view as righteous. Too often the words hate or legalism are used to discredit another without having to respond to Biblical positions which differ with his own. I certainly don't hold my sexual sins in higher regard than my other sins. I want them ALL blotted out and forgiven.

    Proverbs 26:10-11 The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors. As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.
