I hope you soon realize that I'm done responding to you.

And any smart-aleck comeback you deem necessary to come back with, I'll gladly accept.

You need help.
OK, it was nice talking to you AV. Please feel free to resume conversation whenever you want.

Is there somebody else that can answer me? My questions above are for anyone who agrees with AV that God inserted the fossils into the rocks wherever he wanted them. When scientists see where the fossils are placed in the rocks, they overwhelmingly take this as evidence for an old Earth and evolution. God must surely have known that this would deceive people. So why did he do this?

If God did this, knowing that millions would be deceived by what he did, how do you know that he would not rearrange the words in your copy of the Bible, knowing that you would be deceived by it? Once we postulate that God does things that deceive many people, how would we know anything?

AV, I think he has a point.
God doesn't dink around. He's absolutely honest and straight up in His Creation. Which means no fake age, for instance.

I noticed something about you a few days ago, Lamb.

I noticed how quickly Merle fooled you, when he misquoted me a few days back.

I pray you both see the Light, before it's too late.

I can not answer for AV but there is something we need to look at here. God told Adam (Genesis 2:17) "for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die". We know Adam lived to be 930 years of age. (Genesis 5:5) So Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died. God was talking about a day being 1,000 years.

Some people believe Adam gave 70 years to David. So a day is 1000 years and as a dispensationalist, I believe a day in Genesis is 1000 years. The Bible makes it clear people lived to be 1000 before Noah's flood. Science does not recognize that. They say people died at the age of 30. They may look like they are 30, but that is because they did not age past 30. They were a lot older than they look. There is no deception. Science does not support they could live to be 1000. But science says it may be possible for us to live to be 1000. If we could stop the body from aging and getting older.

Or we can just be open to the possibility that much of the Old Testament is more along the lines of poetry and mythology than history.
"One might ask itself what the importance of these old stories is nowadays, when science has the answer to (most) important questions about life. We certainly do not need myths anymore to tell us how the world came to be about, and most people do not assume that a hurricane or earthquake is the rage of the gods. So why should we preserve myths and stories from dying out? Well, there are a few important reasons for that."

We certainly do not need myths anymore to tell us how the world came to be about, and most people do not assume that a hurricane or earthquake is the rage of the gods.

30 October 1991: The Halloween Monster, a.k.a. The Perfect Storm, strikes the U.S. amid the "land-for-peace" Madrid peace talks; President Bush's ocean-side home destroyed.

23 August 1992: President Bush moves Madrid talks to U.S. soil; that very day, Hurricane Andrew devastates southern Florida.

16 January 1994: President Clinton meets with Syrian President Hafez Assad to discuss more "land for peace" arrangements; less than 24 hours later, a 6.9 earthquake pulverized southern California.

1 September 1993: President Clinton announces a meeting with Arafat for the Oslo peace accords, to be held on 13 September; after a week of meandering in the Atlantic Ocean, Hurricane Emily hits North Carolina on that very day.

21 January 1998: while waiting to meet with Arafat at the White House, President Clinton's sex scandal breaks out.

27 September 1998: Arafat is meeting with the president in Washington; Hurricane Georges hits Alabama and stalls. The hurricane stalls until Arafat leaves and then it dissipates. Parts of Alabama declared a disaster area.

17 October 1998: Arafat comes to the Wye Plantation meeting; incredible rains fall on Texas, which cause record flooding. Parts of Texas declared a disaster area.

3 September 1999: Secretary of State Albright meets with Arafat in Israel; Hurricane Dennis comes ashore on this very day after weeks of changing course in the Atlantic Ocean.

12-26 July 2000: Arafat at the Camp David meetings. Powerful droughts throughout the country. Forest fires explode in West into uncontrollable fires. By the end of August, 7 million acres are burnt.

9 November 2000, two days after the presidential election: Arafat meets with President Clinton at the White House to try and salvage the peace process; worst election crisis in over 100 years occurs.

Psalm 83:15 So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.

If God meant "In a thousand years you will die" but said "In the day you eat you will die" he should have known that his words would have been misunderstood. Good communication uses words that can be understood.

If each day in Genesis is 1000 years, then how old do you think the Earth is? Your second paragraph takes the words "1000 years" quite literally, so that indicates you may think Genesis 1 is 6000 years long. Is that your view? Was creation started in 10004 BC, and Adam created in 4004 BC?

Then how do we distinguish both?
To put it in infantile terms, so you can understand:
Imagine a group of archaeologists excavating some site. They find an arrowhead and radiometric date it. Each blip from the equipment makes the artefact 100 years older blip... blip... suddenly they counted and are at an age of 3906 BC. One more blip and the boundary of 4004 bc, the date of the alleged Creation. After a few seconds of silence the apparatus goes suddenly 'blip". The archaeologists uncover their heads, fall on their knees and one whispers: "Gentlemen, we just witnessed embedded age".
Or are there ways in which our imaginary archaeologists can distinguish true age from embedded age? Will their equipment blip differently?

We don't need archaeologists and machines that go "blip".
The question was not "Do we need archaeologists and their machines that go blip." There are archaeologists and there are machines that do blip. Whether you like it or not. And these machines do blip well past 4004 BC. Just like there are geologists that find rock formations older than 6.000 years, astronomers that observe stars past 6.000 light years away and so on. Here they are. You'll have to deal with them.
So how do they distinguish real age from embedded age?

Good question.

I'll say NO to that, since everything around us has been in a state of entropy for over six thousand years, as well as subjected to constant abuse on a grand scale.
1) For much longer than 6.000 years. Rather 4.5 billions of years. If you want to stick with the 6.000 years time scale, you'll have to prove it. And you'll have to deal with all these features we see that are much older than 6.000 years. Just say "embedded age" wont do.
2) How does that makes the difference between real age and embedded age go away?

Have you seen my dentist challenge thread?
I have read the OP. I am not very interested at the moment.
