Testimony of a Resurrection: Stillborn Baby Raised by Praying Teens after 27 Hours
by Aimee Herd : Jul 3, 2008 : David and Kathie Walters Ministries
http://www.goodnews.netministries.org/goodnews.html
"The other villagers came to the house to see this amazing miracle. They asked us which of the Indian gods we had prayed to for such a miracle to happen. We told them we had prayed to the biggest God ever and we began to explain to them about Jesus."
EDITOR'S NOTE: Kathie Walters Ministries has forwarded an amazing testimony involving teenage prayer warriors on a mission trip to Guatemala. God is doing great things among those who are willing to be used of Him. I am reminded of Habakkuk's prayer: "LORD, I have heard of Your fame; I stand in awe of Your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known…" May we ALL be willing to be used by God to bring life in a world filled with death. –Aimee Herd, BCN.
Dear friends,

This is a testimony from a young lady in our church (14), who was part of team used by God to raise a stillborn baby from the dead in Guatemala. We know this young lady personally. Her character and integrity are without reproach. You are about to read a bonafide, contemporary Lazarus resurrection story. This is as close to the flame of a literal resurrection from the dead as we have ever been!

BIG blessings,
Dave and Anita

Testimony from Abby:

"My name is Abby. I am 14 years old. I live in western North Carolina. During the summer of 2008, I went on a ministry trip to Guatemala. During part of the trip, we divided up into small ministry teams (5 to 7 people) and visited different villages in the San Pedro La Laguna area. We traveled from village to village telling the Indian people about Jesus. On one particular day, we were visiting in the home of a young woman. She lived in a small village of about 14 or 15 houses. We were trying to lead the young lady to Christ, but it was not going very well. After awhile, we decided to move on. Before leaving, we asked the woman if we could pray with her about anything in her life. She told us that just the day before, she had given birth to a stillborn baby and that we could pray with her about that.

"In Guatemalan culture, there is great shame and condemnation on mothers who give birth to deformed or stillborn children. We prayed a simple prayer that everything would go well with the funeral and burial of the baby and that the mother would be spared the shame and condemnation associated with having given birth to a stillborn child. As we were praying this simple prayer, my friend and fellow ministry team member, Julia (age 17), told me that we needed to pray over the baby's body. I thought she was crazy to suggest this and that it was not a good idea. Julia was persistent. She said again that we really needed to pray over the baby's body. She told me to ask the mother if she still had the baby's body. When I asked, the mother told us the baby's body was wrapped up in a burial cloth in the back room. I asked her if we could pray over the body. The mother hesitantly said, yes. We went into the backroom and saw the baby's body wrapped up in a bundle on the bed. Julia poked her head out of the back room and asked if she could unwrap the baby's head. The mother said, yes, if we wrapped it back correctly when we were done. Julia picked up the body and unwrapped the head. The baby's head was tiny and pale. The baby was stillborn and had been dead outside the womb for 27 hours. Her skin had turned shades of purple. Our entire ministry team, five of us, began crying and praying over this baby.

"We prayed for thirty to forty minutes. At the end of that time, Julia screamed out to God, telling Him that she believed with all of her heart that this baby could be raised from the dead. After Julia screamed out, everyone was silent. We were quietly interceding and praying. Within a few minutes, the baby started moving. Then the baby coughed and began crying. The mother came rushing into the room. She was screaming, what is going on? No one could answer her. We were just staring at the baby, who had come back to life. The mother asked us again, what is going on? She began crying as she saw that her baby was alive. She ran out of the house and banged on every door in the village, telling all of the people that God is real because her baby was alive. Within about thirty minutes, the baby's skin tone and movements had become completely normal.

"The other villagers came to the house to see this amazing miracle. They asked us which of the Indian gods we had prayed to for such a miracle to happen. We told them we had prayed to the biggest God ever and we began to explain to them about Jesus. Soon, we realized we would not have time to minister salvation to each person individually. So, we gathered all the villagers together, turned on our little sound system and explained the way of salvation. Everyone in the village, 80 to 90 people, prayed to receive Jesus. Each of them was baptized in the Holy Spirit and began speaking in tongues. Many would fall to the ground as the power of the Holy Spirit came on them.

"Five days later, we returned to the village to check in on the mother and the baby. The village had prepared a big dinner in honor of our team. We enjoyed a wonderful time of fellowship together. The baby, whom they named Julia, was perfectly healthy and had gained weight. Even after five days, the mother was still shaking from the impact of God on her life through the resurrection of her child. Two days after our follow-up visit, the mother brought baby Julia to church. The mother was still shaking from the power of God on her life following this astounding miracle."

What an awful response to such a glorious and merciful miracle.

That wasn't in response to the miracle. It was in response to the implication concerning a trip these people took to Lakeland prior to the mission trip.

Don't be so quick to attempt judge my motives or intentions here on this site when you simply don't know. Far to many people here do so.

I am sorry. I was not clear in my post, and I am so sorry about the confusion. I was nervous to offend, Faulty, and it's not your Fault! I was responding to the comment you made about Todd Bentley. I said the girls went to Lakeland, what I needed to say was yes, Faulty, They went to a revival meeting, and were prayed for to have God's annointing. The girls then went on their missonary trip, and on faith in God and the annointing they received from him, prayed for the baby.

Again, I am so sorry. God bless you all in this thread. May God's love cover a multitude of wrongly worded posts and thoughts.

Ever notice that these stories always take place in remote villages in some third world country where the locals are so involved in false religions and superstions that they're libel to believe anything and, more to the point, where it's very difficult to corroborate such stories or get medical confirmation?

Seriously, isn't that the same tactic the Weekly World News used to use when it would report on UFO landings?

And, while we're at it, why wasn't the preaching of the Gospel enough? I don't know anywhere in scripture where we're told to win people to Christ by raising the dead. It's always by the preaching of the Gospel, never by signs and wonders.

In fact, Jesus called folks who looked for signs and wonders "wicked and adulterous".

One of my two very closest friends, who I've known for several years (in real life), and who also posts here, knows the woman running that ministry personally. She is satisfied that this is an accurate report.

Take it or leave it - you don't know me anyway, but if you can't trust and rejoice, maybe keep your negative thoughts to yourself? After all, what's the worst that could happen? God gets glory, folks have a faith-lift!

Sorry dear brother but you must have a different Bible from me. Maybe you have yet to really notice those verses.

Mar 16:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mar 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
Mar 16:17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;
Mar 16:18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

Signs and wonders would follow those who believe- I believe.

Mat 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.

Jesus preached the gospel of the kingdom and healed the sick. Jesus lives in me.

1Co 2:4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

What was the Apostle Paul speaking of here? Read the book of Acts.

Joh 14:12 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
Joh 14:13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Joh 14:14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

Greater works will be done by those who believe in him, it doesn't say only the twelve.

Acts 10:38 …God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

1 Cor 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.

Almost every instance of successful evangelism in the New Testament involves some demonstration of supernatural power alongside the preaching of the Word—a healing,an exorcism,a prophecy, a resurrection from the dead, a word of knowledge, speaking of foreign tongues.

Acts 9:34f., "And Peter said to him, 'Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; rise and make your bed.' And immediately he rose. And all the residents of Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord."

Acts 8:6–7, "And the multitudes with one accord gave heed to what was said by Philip, when they heard him and saw the signs which he did. For unclean spirits came out of many who were possessed, crying with a loud voice."

For example the effect on the woman at the well in John 4:17–18 when Jesus told her the secrets of her heart. Her evangelism was, "Come see a man who told me all that I ever did" (John 4:29).

And the effect of the raising of Tabitha in Acts 9:42, "And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord."

This was the thing at Pentecost that caused the crowds at first to gather and be amazed (Acts 2:12). "'We hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.' And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, 'What does this mean?'"

We belong to the Kingdom, the power that raised Jesus from the dead lives within us, we are meant to walk in that power.

 I don't belieeeeeeve it!

But I take the story in the OP on faith. How else do you explain a live baby that was dead for 27 hours? We have a saying here in the north of England "If you can't say owt nice, say nowt"!

Glory to God in the highest. He knows the truth of it and that's enough for me.
