SHHHHH!! Don't say that too loud.Folks this is really frightening. The Encyclopedia Mythica says that Jupiter is the supreme god of the Roman pantheon, called dies pater, "shining father". He is a god of light and sky, and protector of the state and its laws. I'm afraid to say that if the Vatican doesn't put an end to this veneration or whatever it calls it of (Saint)Statues, God Jehovah just might be replaced altogether. COME OUT FROM HER MY PEOPLE
He was a bad boy alright and unfortunately he broke the law. There's not that many in the Old Testament who you could say were born of the spirit and followed God's law.
God tests people, he tested Abraham, he tested Moses. Did he test the Pope? Did the Popes state God said, "Let the Vatican make graven images"....nope the Pope said, "I will make graven images" There's a big difference.
thereselittleflower, could you tell me if any of the Saint images have certain features of identity? I know Apostile Peter is surprisingly familiar looking to Jupiter. take a look.
Apostile Peter
Jupiter, with something keylike in his hand

I don't know that big cross, with Jesus nailed to at the front of the Church not far from here, and many other strikes me as an Icon. No, its images THAT ARE GODS that are prohibited to be bowed down to . .
Does the Catholic Church uses images THAT ARE GODS?
Oh boy, Solomon was really a very, very, very bad boy!

Umm . . . Solomon wasn't a bad boy in that sense or context . . .You know perfectly well what I meant and you are simply avoiding admitting I was right.
Just admit it. You will feel a lot better!
.
I guess I would be out of place there in my Jeans, T-shirt and Adidas tennis shoes.
I know as Protestants, we don't totally understand this. If they say they are not worshiping the statue, why can't we believe them?
it looks like a sun to me.A halo - a symbol of sanctity.
