My wife and daughters often exchange text messages in English but written in the Greek alphabet. We discovered that we all read them out loud with a strong Greek accent. Its hilariousBut I will admit, my mind created an Irish accent saying those words, and it WAS just slightly comical to me.

That struck me as hilarious, but the first time I tried to do it in my mind, I can read the Greek letters, understand in English, but I couldn't get the heavy Greek accent in my mind (I was trying to hear a man's voice). Kind of a mind-bender for me. Not elastic enough I guess. Reread it today and it was easy to "hear" ... in the accent of a dear lady in our parish who teaches seminarians and translates. Her accent is very heavy, but she enunciates SO carefully. So now I can "hear" it just fine.My wife and daughters often exchange text messages in English but written in the Greek alphabet.
