Many people die. In fact everybody dies. And yet it is considered wrong by every society to commit murder or manslaughter. If what you are getting at is that abortion is OK because God allows miscarriages then it is OK to murder because God allows death.

My reaction is that there will be a whole lot more people in heaven than I was expecting!

God does not cause a miscarriage. Death is unnatural and happens because of the fall of man.

I know but surely if God has some reason to make sure these children couldn't live he would have found some way of preventing them being conceived in the first place? He could make the women barren . Why punish innocent babies ??

One possibility is that from God's point of view, death isn't a punishment.

God's ways are not our ways. I ultimately do not know the answer to this question.

There obviously is no baby being killed because all babies are born. Nobody who knows the word baby is able to say this is not true. It has always meant and always will mean "a born human under one year old" or medically, "the fifth stage of child development."

Miscarriages are caused by both God and the mother. She could have killed her child because she had not learned about her pregnancy yet and done something that kills unborn children. They also happen when a pregnant woman gets sick. Another problem is little girls getting pregnant. When they are still growing up themselves, the risk of miscarriage is much higher.

Then there is God. He certainly does kill many of His children in utero.

Who knows? God allows things to happen without his intervention. The creation of a new human is an amazing thing and if one thing goes wrong, the woman's body can abort it. There are countless factors and clarifying this is a long winded topic that is lost on text-only information.

It happens because the mom did not know she was pregnant. If she knows she is pregnant, she gets an abortion or carries her offspring to term.
