Spiritual Gift ReAnionting ???

HI Everyone,

When God anoints you with a spiritual gift and you havent used it in some time ( years) can he then go and re anoint / refresh that gift?

We use to have an evangelist with last name of Renew who used to boldly proclaim that he was renewed every day!

I suspect He will meet you in the midst of it but I have no scripture to quote , just experiential testimony..

Yes, when it is true, in Christ, for real.

Most 'gifts' in the world's organizations are not truthful, and not uplifting or healing or Christ-like....
so test everything, always, until proven true.

Another way to perceive this, YHWH WIlling , is like this,
as long as someone(anyone) abides in JEsus, remains in union with Him,
He may heal the sick, or cast out demons, with Jesus'Authority, as always, stated clearly in Scripture,
(not with fanfare nor for appearances at all; but as Yahweh Pleases)....

but if someone , like the disciples in the New Testament who left Jesus and did not return to Him,
then even if the working(s) of Jesus in their life used to be good and true and right and obedient to the Father,
after / when
they depart from Jesus, to serve the enemy,
well,
don't expect good news from Jesus in the life to come....

"Gifts" can be used every day,
and still find out on judgment day that
it doesn't help .... better to make sure here on earth, even if it is devastating and embarrassing, instead of in the next life when it is much much more dire.

Seek Yahweh's Kingdom in Jesus all the time, every day.
And keep seeking Him - HE never disappoints anyone who puts their trust in HIM and relies on HIM for all things.

What gift is it? I think of gifts as being abilties or instruments that have been consecrated to Christ so it may depend on whether you have taken that back. If so it might have to be rededicated.

Two verses come to mind:

• The gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
• Stir up the gift of God that is in you by the laying on of hands.

They seem to put the impetus on us rather than God, God being always willing.

We know that the 120 were all filled with the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.

In Acts4 we see the arrests of Peter and John, their interrogation and bold response. After threatening them they release them.-

23Now having been let go, they came to the own and reported how much the chief priests and the elders had said to them. 24And having heard, they lifted up their voice with one accord to God and said, “Sovereign Lord, You made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them, 25having spoken by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of Your servant, our father David:

‘Why did the Gentiles rage and the peoples devise vain things?
26The kings of the earth took their stand, and the rulers were gathered together
against the Lord and against His Christ.’

27For in truth, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, were gathered together in this city against Your holy servant Jesus whom You anointed, 28to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose had determined beforehand to happen. 29And now, Lord, look upon their threats, and grant to Your servants to speak Your word with all boldness, 30in that You stretch out Your hand for healing and signs and wonders to take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.”

31And they having prayed, the place in which they were assembled was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and were speaking the word of God with boldness.

Here you can see that after the massive outpouring at Pentecost, the apostles etc all still need to be filled again and again so they are constantly equipped and full of the Spirit.

Of course, God can do anything, and God's sense of time is very, very different then yours.

So, you are the one who sees it as a long time, not God, lol.

But, I am not sure what gift this is, or why it might be necessary.

I believe it is still there.Step out in faith an try it.The more you use it,God rewards you with an increase of that anointing.Have fun.

He has never taken the gift away from you. The Scripture says that the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. Therefore, the gift is always there for you to use. All you need is to stir it back up. That's what Paul said to Timothy - to stir up the gift that is within him.
