  1. Welcome to Christian Forums, a forum to discuss Christianity in a friendly surrounding.

Your voice is missing! You will need to register to be able to join in fellowship with Christians all over the world.

We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!

  2. The forums in the Christian Congregations category are now open only to Christian members. Please review our current Faith Groups list for information on which faith groups are considered to be Christian faiths. Christian members please remember to read the Statement of Purpose threads for each forum within Christian Congregations before posting in the forum.
  3. Please note there is a new rule regarding the posting of videos. It reads, "Post a summary of the videos you post . An exception can be made for music videos.". Unless you are simply sharing music, please post a summary, or the gist, of the video you wish to share.
  4. There have been some changes in the Life Stages section involving the following forums: Roaring 20s, Terrific Thirties, Fabulous Forties, and Golden Eagles. They are changed to Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Golden Eagles will have a slight change.
  5. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.
  7. There has been an addition to the announcement regarding unacceptable nick names. The phrase "Let's go Brandon" actually stands for a profanity and will be seen as a violation of the profanity rule in the future.

    Hello.

I attended different kinds of churches. I listened to hundreds and hundreds of Christian sermons. Read the Bible and Christian books. They say Jesus talked about hell more than about heaven. When some sick people were healed, the gospels tell us some of them were inflicted by demons who communicated with Jesus and needed to be removed from people’s bodies. We also read about angels doing God’s work. Bringing good tidings or fighting for God against evil.

In mosques, angels or Malaika are considered to be important agents, such as Jibril who revealed the Qur’an to Mohammed. Iblis and the jinns and shaitans are seen as quite an active force everywhere. People can sometimes be called shaitans if they do things considered anti-islamic. So in Islam this world of angelic and demonic creatures is emphasized and assumed to be around us and taken into consideration as very important forces.

In Christianity, it seems to me the angelic and demonic realm became forgotten or downplayed. At least it’s not in the mainstream anymore. And even the Holy Spirit is kind of in the shadow. I only hear about Father God, Son of God Jesus, sin, blessings, future prophecies, heaven, forgiveness etc. Mostly psychology and positivity. Hell or Satan are very rarely mentioned if at all.

Do you think it’s a mistake? Do you think the angelic / demonic world is to be brought into the spotlight again? Should Hell be a focus as well, not only Heaven? Is bright positivity hurting the message of Christianity, hiding some pressing issues and not being relevant to the realities people are going through?

Or is it the way God’s message should be presented to be attractive and non-controversial to people?

Or do I get the wrong impression due to my limited exposure to Christianity?

And if you want an even shorter version of the entire span of human history from the fall of Lucifer to the New Earth and how good angels, bad angels, the Hol Spirit, humans interact in all of it - in a Reader's Digest short form (tiny-er book) - that gets to the heart of your topic fast... Christianity and positivity are like apples and pomegranates. The prosperity gospel has elements but it misses the mark.

Positivity is optimism personified. It’s recognizing the good, the brighter side, clinging to hope, seeing the glass half-full, counting your blessings, celebrating, laughter, joy and peace.

Does that sound like Christianity to you?

    There’s too much negativity.
    Too much fear.
    Too much brooding.
    Too much fantasy.
    Too much sadness.
    Too much unhappiness.
    Too much depression.
    Too much uncertainty.

Positivity is present minded. You enjoy the moment. You aren’t living in the future. Or rhapsodizing catastrophes.

You can’t do those things and be positive. You can’t swim in mud and come up clean. The muck remains.

If people levied the beliefs and accusations to their friends they direct to God they wouldn’t have any. If you blamed them for your problems, lack, and insecurities they’d leave you alone after awhile.

They wouldn’t believe you loved them, trusted them or believed in them. Your behavior says otherwise. That’s my tipping point. If I know Him I understand His character.

I don’t have to make mental leaps, live in fear, or be a doomsday chronicle. I have experiences to draw from that validates His intent. I don’t need to make it up or fill-in-the blanks. I can go by the things He’s done. Just like I do with others.

For me, God is good news and my mindset reflects it. I’m not a Debbie Downer. Nor am I fixated on hell, end times, or spiritual calamity. I recognize satan and the role the demonic plays. But they’re not my focus.

I keep my attention on Him and the Holy Spirit. That’s my lantern. When you have His peace and presence your mind is still. You’re in receive mode. Not reactive.

You’re not afraid of tomorrow or what hasn’t manifested. You trust Him with all of it. I don’t believe in God. I know Him.

know - to understand (something): to have a clear and complete idea of (something).

Pretty profound. I’ve re-read it to sink in like 10 times.

Do you live by those principles? How did you come to them? Yourself or had teachers?

You can’t hear His voice with everyone telling you what to think or do. Or develop dependency when they’re filling in the blanks.

    Adonai is my Shepherd…

    Not the church.
    Or a pastor.
    Or a denomination.
    Other believers.
    Books.
    Sermons.

He’s all. That requires time and attention. What do you do when you want to get acquainted with someone? You spend time with them. If closeness is your goal they’re a priority.

You don’t get a BFF by ignoring them or talking when the mood strikes. That’s one-sided and won’t last very long. The same applies.

In like fashion, you enter with a blank slate. You don’t know them. You learn their character through experiences and deepen your knowledge.

Christians go about it differently. They enter with lots of answers and stand on other’s encounters and call it faith. I don’t do that. I acknowledge what the bible says. But personal experience is foremost.

The encounters heighten my awareness and acquaintance. While He’s done all they say. I won’t experience all of it. How He reveals Himself is important. He wants me to know that aspect personally.

Relationship was my barometer from the beginning. We spoke a lot about everything. I brought my questions and concerns to Him. Not to others. He’s the starting point. I listened for His voice, nuances in engagement, and wasn’t afraid to err.

By the time I interacted with believers I had a solid foundation. I had a strong prayer life and wrote everything down. I had something to reference too. It helped with discernment and gratitude.

I knew Him, trusted Him, and grew to love Him. And I protected our bond. When I heard or experienced things that were contrary to His instruction I responded in three ways:

Ignore. My usual response for theological comments. I have no incentive for debate. I’m quiet or shut it down.

Question. Is that a word from God? I pose the question when challenged. I know He didn’t tell them to say it and that ends the discussion.

Disagreement or further engagement. I never ask them to explain. If the Lord gave the word they’ll know what to say. I listen and sift the comment through my spirit.

I’m very intentional about what I absorb spiritually. I’ll read a book. I can taste the words. But I don’t put everyone in my ear. That’s how leaven starts. I don’t listen to Christian radio, sermons, or query strangers.

I know the fruit before partaking. I look at their character, behavior, children etc. If you’re operating in a spirit of wisdom you’ll have evidence to support it.

You have to be wise to advise me. I have no regard for supposition. My counselors are specialized. They speak from experience. I don’t broach topics they’re unqualified to address or accept the same from others.

Wisdom and discrimination are part of it. They keep me out of harm’s way. I don’t lend my ear or voice to most. My loyalties are few and my relationship isn’t dependent on extremities.

I didn’t build my faith on traditions, institutions, or people. I didn’t worry when the churches closed or complain. I’m not concerned about tribulation or losing my bible. It changes nothing.

So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.

I’m proactive and goal-oriented. I believe in using my time well. The pandemic was the breaking point. I can’t live that life nor do I want it. The one we’re supposed to have. I’m doing things differently.

My parents had a few philosophies:

A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
Be a leader not a follower.
    Be excellent.
    Mind your own business.
    Sticks and stones.

That isn’t very radical on its own. But when you combine them you understand. It created a strong mind and will that isn’t easily toppled or influenced.

My grandparents emphasized family and my aunt wisdom. They all were believers. But none were wedded to externals. If it didn’t line up with their heart and spirit they’d call it out. They didn’t put church or pastors/priests on pedestals.

My biggest influences were wise and shrewd. They built wealth and had money to leave behind. I’m doing the same.

Reading and education played a part. But example did most. I kept the good and chucked the rest.

    Amazing.

What’s your goal? This describes method and some experiences, but for what purpose? Do you clearly have one and see it? Or are you in a path of discovering it? Or what are your goals in life?

Also, when you say something isn’t God’s leadership - do you mean you hear direct communication from Him in some way? Maybe feeling what He wants? Or finding revelation in the Word?

Independent thinking and decisions. Must have been a bumpy road to get where you’re now at, we all grow. We become, we are shaped, we make mistakes. Do you think you were set on the right track from get go and didn’t really deviate all too much, or had to learn the hard way a few times or more?

My personal goal is legacy. I’m laying a foundation for my daughter and descendants. Spiritual wise, I was called to the marketplace. I focus on three areas: digital, physical, and crypto/NFTs.

The Holy Spirit laid things out. I was given a blueprint for the business and the people I’m meant to serve. He built my friendships, provided mentors and instructors, and business associates. My connections are God breathed. They weren’t of my making.

When strangers try to influence me I know its not from Him. He doesn’t send them or people from the Internet. The alliances He brought were in the same programs or circles connected to them. We’re on the same page professionally and financially. They don’t want anything from me.

Not at all. I’ve always been controlled. I would never do anything that would ruin my reputation or leave me bankrupt. I knew the life I wanted and kept away from the things I didn’t.

I’m not afraid to fail or fly. I’m a risk taker. But I don’t roll the dice for everything or everyone. I have common sense. I had a good foundation and their message was ideal for someone with my personality.

I love the climb and believe in working to my capacity. I never quit on bella. I give her 100%. The bar is high and keeps rising. I enjoy the challenge.

    Great! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: I like it.

You say the Holy Spirit laid things out for you - blueprint for business and people around you brought to you and arranged by God. How exactly did you get the blueprint and met the people? I’m interested what’s the mechanism, how do you receive messages or confirmation it’s the Spirit and not your own mind for example. Is there something supernatural such as a vision or a dream, or miraculous like people contacting you on their own or you “randomly” finding them. Or is there a prophetic kind of knowledg, or is everything normal and logical, but then you see God working in everything in hindsight?

I had a lengthy period alone after my deliverance. I laid down my connections and other than family I had no one to talk to. That’s the primary reason we have a strong relationship. I didn’t have distractions, was home all day, and no one advised me.

I went to church but I didn’t try to fill the void. I embraced it. I spent a lot of time with Him. Hours in prayer every day recording what I received. I have the gift of discernment and honed it during that period.

If you talk to someone throughout the day every day for several years you’re going to be close. Togetherness forges the bond. You learn to read them, gauge their moods, and anticipate their thoughts.

When the slate is clean and you’re focused on one thing you’ll grow by leaps and bounds. Call it 10X if you will. I didn’t have competing interests or responsibilities drawing me away. Hearing from God isn’t difficult.

As for work, He gave me a 10 year plan and placed me in an industry where I lacked experience. I nurtured my creativity and vision over the years. When He called I had enough in tow to pursue the path and acquire what I lacked.

I started connecting the dots. Looking to my childhood and early adult years for clues. I found a lot. It wasn’t random or a fluke. He was developing me all along. My passions and interests were purposeful. I didn’t know at the time but now I see His wisdom.

God’s isn’t a man that He should lie. There’s three voices at work: Yours, His, and the devil’s. And if you lend you ear to others you have theirs as well. Which can become yours in time with influence.

You have to be willing to question what you hear and listen. I did lectio divina for years and spoke aloud. Now I do the latter. When in doubt pray.

I pay attention to my attacks. Satan doesn’t move against you willy nilly. He looks for the weak point in the wall. You’ll notice a pattern. Bearing in mind the spiritual laws at play.

Spiritual warfare is the result of sin, permission (God’s), promotion, standing in the gap (for others), and outside influences. Being conversant in the subject is a must for discernment.

You can wrongly attribute things to God that hail from you, the enemy, or others. Being wedded to specific outcomes puts you at risk for it. You’re projecting your wants onto Him and satan exploits it.

If the Lord didn’t give me a word it isn’t a done deal. It doesn’t matter if I want it, someone has it, or others believe He’ll grant it. I don’t set myself up for letdowns or deception. If He wants me to know He’ll tell me.

I don’t name and claim everything in the bible. I pray as He instructs and the situation demands. I didn’t pray for healing until He told me. I’ve never prayed for wealth. I tie it to Him through lifestyle design.

I built my life around the things He’s asked of me. My reason for being. The people and activities I engage with reinforce the theme. I get narrower as the years pass. Doubling down on my focus and eliminating distractions.

As for the people, I joined a program for entrepreneurs years ago. Most of the members are believers and the success rate is very high. He brought me together with the ones who possessed the things I lacked who needed what I had in turn.

The same holds true for coaching and companionship. I don’t have one-sided connections. They’re mutually fulfilling and we’re on the same page. When I’ve permitted alliances He didn’t send its disastrous. It never ends well.

Most of our communication is when I’m awake. But He gives me dreams too. I ask for the interpretation if it isn’t obvious. Not all dreams are from Him.

Very interesting! Happy for your success and clear path in God.

What kind of deliverance? From what?

How can you tell that a communication is from the Holy Spirit? And in what form is that communication? You feel a voice, an urging, knowledge?

Demonic harassment. Unpleasant but life altering. It led to my homecoming.

How do you discern in the natural? Trial and error. Knowledge, experience, and your gut. Sometimes you’re right and others you’re not. The same applies spiritually.

He gets my attention in three ways:

Physical sensation. Burning and zaps. I have different responses with evil spirits.

Conversation. He starts talking. I’ll hear it in my ear or head. The dialogue is spontaneous. I can be doing something else and He chimes in.

Knowledge. I call them downloads. He provides the knowledge, solution, or advice without request. Sometimes I have a vision that unfolds before my eyes. It looks like a movie. I’m awake when it happens.

Sleep. Sometimes He converses in my sleep. I’ve asked a question or He has me pray against a problem. It happens often during warfare. I’m speaking aloud but I’m asleep. He’s praying through me.

The latter happened many times before my deliverance. My daughter confirmed it. She was laying beside me.

Satan presents himself in two guises. As a spirit of light. He pretends to be the Holy Spirit (with me). He doesn’t pretend to be an angel or departed relative. I’d know its him.

He comes as himself as well. He’s usually belligerent or mocking. I rebuke him and end it. I don’t converse with him. If I suspect he’s talking to me I tell the Lord I’m not sure of what I’ve heard and ask for confirmation.

I listen for where it points. The Holy Spirit is loving and matter of fact. He doesn’t tell me what I want to hear. I’m always led to pray. But satan does the same. He’ll talk about God and tell you to pray to raise your hopes.

When things don’t materialize as you expect you’re disheartened and become distrustful. Projection opens the door for deception. I see it a lot. Personal wants turned into scripture that don’t come to pass.

    My healing and spiritual practice:

Healing Faith or Faith to be Healed?
    Have You Tried Fasting?

Wow this is so powerful, thank you for sharing in detail. Besides heritage after you, which is so super caring goal for your child, are there bigger goals for you?

Where are you in your 10-year plan revealed to you by God?

Do you have anybody with such abilities and closeness to the Spiritual and God among your ancestors? Among my people there’s a belief that even though all people can have a certain capability, heightened talent for spirituality can run in families, especially maternal lineage they say could be strong, but paternal as well.

Faith is a hallmark of our family: mother, father and grandparents. They’re all Christians. We’re multigenerational believers. Our spiritual legacy is unbroken. That’s a lot of prayer going up.

My daughter is an adult and my work is done. I’m putting things in place for her future children. So she’ll have what she needs to rear them well.

The foundation is there. Our ethos is la famille est tout. Family is all. Support is a fact of life in our family. It goes beyond immediate relations. The unit matters. We want the links to be strong.

I’m purchasing a homestead overseas. The land will provide housing, food, and community for all of us. It will be kept in the family and maintained through private resources.

I’m establishing a practice of entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency. So they aren’t dependent on others for their sustenance and have their earnings restrained.

There’s a framework for education. Homeschooling in primary and elementary years and boarding in high school. They’ll learn self-sufficiency too.

Each generation builds upon the other. That’s my heritage.

Very good! Far-reaching to all generations. Great. Wishing all success to you and them.

Any goals besides this? In the spiritual realm? Or is this the main message and task to you from God? It’s big enough.

Does the Spirit open up the future not only in regards to you and your family and the direction to choose, but generally? On any subject. Say, you meet somebody and have a prophetic knowledge of them. Or about political developments overseas. Say, don’t invest into this land because some unrest could happen down the road and invest somewhere else instead? Even though it might not seem like such a good idea today or be illogical by regular human wisdom? Something of this kind.

Faith of ancestors….. Yes you mentioned about their strong faith and their legacy of independent thinking…
