Commandments of men
Which turn aside from the truth

The Python Spirit primarily attacks those who a fear of the Lord and a desire for holiness before God. I believe that it is rare for the Python Spirit to affect people who do not desire to please the Lord. The Python Spirit is a strong spirit that comes upon people who are looking for ways to please the Lord, and it comes in to provide one of those ways. The Python Spirit attacks Worshipers and God-chasers:
Colossians 2:20 "Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, (21) (Touch not; taste not; handle not; (22) Which all are to perish with the using
As you see, the Python Spirit comes in and gets hold of people who desire to worship the Lord, as it talks about "will-worship". When you have a great hunger for more of God you must be careful, for that's when the Python Spirit will come in and whisper, "Thus saith the Lord, let me show you how to really worship the Lord! Why don't you quit doing this and that, and why don't you neglect and humble here and there, and begin to limit and restrict yourself ?"
The Python Spirit attacks people who have the Fear of the Lord:
Isaiah 29:13 "Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
As we see in the above scripture, the Python Spirit works in people who fear the Lord, teaching them rules and regulations, and enforcing those laws upon people who are afraid of disobedience. If you are not afraid of disobeying the voice of God, you probably will never have a problem with Python. But if you are afraid of disobeying God's voice you must watch out for the devil to come in as a Python Spirit and take advantage of your fear in that area and use it to gain your complete obedience to a false and lying voice speaking directly into your conscience, mimicking and pretending to be God's voice. This does not mean you should not fear the Lord, for we should. Just be careful that you try the spirit, and learn to try and prove your own conscience, to see who is making you guilty, and whose rules you are obeying.
The Python Spirit is a master, and you can't serve two masters:
Mar 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Isaiah prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoreth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. (7) Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. (8) For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men (the Python Spirit), as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. (9) And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
Mar 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
As Jesus said, you cannot serve two masters. Because the Python Spirit is a master, you must not be obeying it's voice, because in doing so, and by yielding to it's bondage, you will inevitably end up disobeying God - because you can't obey two masters.
The Python Spirit gets in the way of the true voice of God:
*** 1:14 "Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and Commandments of men, that turn from the truth.(15) Unto the pure all things are pure: But unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; But even their mind and conscience is defiled."
As Long as you have the voice of Python speaking into your ear, and you "give heed" to it, then you will be turned aside from the Truth. This is why your worship of the Lord must not be effected by the Spirit of Python. Many worshipers are greatly harmed by the Spirit of Python, because the scripture says that God seeketh those who will worship him in spirit and "in truth". But as we saw earlier in Isaiah, "in vain do they worship me, for their fear is taught by the precept of men." It's very possible to worship God in vain, because it's not in truth. Some people put these rules upon themselves as a form of self-inflicted bondage in an attempt to please God and be more holy. That's a form of worship, however, it's not in truth. Because as we see in the above scripture, when you put the commandments of men upon yourself, which may be your own commandments, they turn aside from the truth. Then your worship is no longer in spirit and in truth, and then you wonder why your worship is not as effective in bringing down the glory of God as you wish.
The Python Spirit accuses and condemns the just:
Isaiah 29:18 "And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness. (19) The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. (20) For the terrible one is brought to naught, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off: (21) That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of naught. (22) Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale. (23) But when he seeth his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel. (24) They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine."
This is an amazing scripture, because it gives us a clear example of what I call a complete and total mess. I mean, look at what Isaiah said was going on. We got people who are giving reproofs in the gate, and people are laying snares for them. Then we got critical people sitting around who "watch for iniquity", such as those people who love to find something to gossip about. Then we got the righteous people, who are being condemned over things "of naught", such as things which really are not sins at all. What a mess!
In this scripture we are looking at many different evil spirits at work, including Leviathan and Python. But we see Python specifically at work in the hearts of the just, making them feel guilty over things of naught.
