Unless a "special revelation" is 100% harmonious with the known Gospel, it is false. I submit as evidence this passage:

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace
of Christ unto another gospel:Which is not another; but there be some that
trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an
angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we
have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I
now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have
received, let him be accursed. (Galations 1:6-9)​

According to Paul, the attitudes of the Bereans were an exemplary example for all of us - testing ALL claims against known scripture to see if they were true or false. Christians today should be equally wary and diligent since the Word of Faith was deliver ONCE for all:

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation,
it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should
earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
(Jude 3)​

yes as long as its in accordance with scripture. it is one of the things that makes our faith different from other religions

yes - and it happens to even a sinner - I was one - and it had nothing to do with the Bible - with God - then you go to the Bible to see what it means

It really depends on what you mean by "Special Revelation". There is some terminology that is used, such as "Revelation Knowledge" where people have gone as far as to say that God has reveled such things about His own nature that is not found in scripture. That is dangerous and should be avoided.

Special Revelation, IMO, is nothing more than one of the nine gifts of the spirit, DISCERNMENT. Somone has reworded or coined a new phrase in order to make is sound more than it is.

Peter excersized discernment with Annanias and Sapphira when the Holy Spirit revealed their intentions and heart. That is discernement at it's best IMO.

I have had many such revelations. They are fantastic, and absolutely scriptural. I don't have permission to release any of them yet. I had a Catholic Priest check some of them over, and he thought everything was scriptural.
