We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!

  2. The forums in the Christian Congregations category are now open only to Christian members. Please review our current Faith Groups list for information on which faith groups are considered to be Christian faiths. Christian members please remember to read the Statement of Purpose threads for each forum within Christian Congregations before posting in the forum.
  3. Please note there is a new rule regarding the posting of videos. It reads, "Post a summary of the videos you post . An exception can be made for music videos.". Unless you are simply sharing music, please post a summary, or the gist, of the video you wish to share.
  4. There have been some changes in the Life Stages section involving the following forums: Roaring 20s, Terrific Thirties, Fabulous Forties, and Golden Eagles. They are changed to Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Golden Eagles will have a slight change.
  5. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.

Don't think Jesus came to make people nice. He came not to bring peace, but the sword.

BTW, Medieval Christians believed the angels spoke Latin, and what's really odd is we get the word "nice" from the Latin word "nescius" meaning ignorant. Have we come full circle yet?

Please be careful. Not all medieval CHristians believed this kind of thing.

Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of malicious behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

***Ephesians 4:29 - 5:4 29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. 5:1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. 2 And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. 3 But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. 4 Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.

    Kathleen,

You asked if I believe in tongues and my reply is yes. But not in the sense that is wrongly preached today. Which is some type of un-understandable speech. I do believe that the gift of toungues is the gift to speak another earthly language.

You as well as others have quoted the same scripture yet each time when given support of the false gift of tongues, provided through looking at the Greek text in which the scripture was written, you guys just keep referring to the scripture without explaination. :sorry:

One can refer to my first post that I titled TONGUES (not the post that started the thread):

To go one step further into why Paul may have used the two words tongue and tongues . Paul would use the word tongue to express the false ecstatic babble because the babble is just that, babble. It has no distinctions, or in other words one cannot classify one persons babble different from anothers. Thus Paul would classify this false speaking as one: tongue . On the other hand the plural word tongues would be used to express the many and variying earthly languages. This is true, for such languages such as Latin, French or Spanish may be similar, but each language has its own distinctions. Thus each one must be catagorized seperately. Therefore Paul uses tongues when speaking of the TRUE gift of tongues which is speaking in another earthly language. :)

In reference to tongues whether its human language or not, this info below comes from the notes in the "Full Life Study Bible"
