How do we sow to the Spirit?

Didn’t we ask that we may be given the answer ? Yes, that we may sow to the Spirit and reap eternal life.


This is what we have heard:

"A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell along the path and was trampled underfoot, and the birds of the air devoured it. -Luke 8:5


We heard the Lord explained :

Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. -Luke 8:11

The ones along the path are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. -Luke 8:12


So what should we sow to the Spirit?

The word of God, the seed.


Why do we sow the seed or the word of God to the Spirit? This is what we have heard:


so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. -Isaiah 55:11


So we sow to the Spirit, that the word of God shall not return to God empty but FULL-FILL for the Word shall accomplish that which God purpose, and shall succeed in the thing which God send the Word.


In other words, we sow to the Spirit, that those in union with Christ shall not return to God empty but fulfilled, for those in Christ shall accomplish that which God purpose, and shall succeed in the thing which God send Christ.


The question remain,”How do we sow in the Spirit?”


This is what we have heard:


But, as it is written, "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him"' -1 Corinthians 2:9


these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. -1 Corinthians 2:10


For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. -1 Corinthians 2:11


So we sow to the heart of God or the Spirit of God by loving Him.


Likewise, we have heard:

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. -1 John 4:7

Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. -1 John 4:8

In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. -1 John 4:9


So when word of God planted in us by the Father —His love, that is Christ was given to us by the Spirit in our hearts, this love of God was made MANIFEST among us.


How this love of God was made MANIFEST among us ? This is what we have heard:


We love because He first loved us. -1 John 4:19


So when we saw the Word of God! Did we perceive His love ?

So when we heard the Word of God? Did we understand His love ?

When we perceive and understand the word of His love that we treasured in our hearts !

Truly when we perceive and understand His first love, the love of God is made MANIFEST in our lives; that we love Him.


So we sow to the Spirit by loving Him. And from the Spirit of God, we will reap eternal life.

Because I've not heard the Bible speak of this.

“For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”

It is the opposite of " quenching " the Holy Spirit.

I like what you discovered.
I look into the meaning of quenching; quenching meaning satisfy one’s thirst by drinking.
So I perceive that those who quench the Spirit, that they satisfy themselves with their own righteousness, but they should actually quench their thirst by drinking the righteousness of God.

For our beloved Lord Jesus said:

“Blessed are they which do hunger and THIRST after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So those who quench the Spirit, they quench the words that Christ have spoken, that they did not understand the righteousness of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

But those who sow to the Spirit, that they speak the love of God, that they speak the gospel of Jesus Christ, that we in union with Christ shall not return to God empty but fulfilled, that we are filled with the love of God, for we in Christ shall accomplish that which God purpose, and shall succeed in the thing which Christ send us.
