What is 거 친 용 서?

You speak Korean just like I speak English.
Don't you think we have something common here?

By the way, for me to type in Korean takes much longer than type in English because I had never practice typing in Korean.

I am glad to hear from someone who likes Korea.
How about Korean?

Ai goo, mee ahn ham nee da, yong sa ha say yo. Canada sahrahm maree yayo.

Don't you know how to type in Korean?

Like this;

어 이 구 미 안 합 니 다
용 서 하 십 시 요
캐 나 다 사 람 입 니 다.

I have installed MS IME 2002 and it works fine so far.
My daughter bought me the sticker that has the Korean and English alphabet printed on it and can stick over each button on the key board.
I also have short-cut key set to switch between A and 가 .

What is up with you?:D

Edited for the following mistake.

I guess I am calling a dead- I didn't check the post date and replied.
It happened to be that the setting of thread was 'ascending' from the old 20 on down.
What a fool!

Only that I am new and don't know how to go about things here,
Can some contemporary living being answer for the dead, instead?

나 사 로, 나 오 거 라!

Going to Korea late August-mid September this summer. I never been there before so I'm excited. My mom was born there so its my way to get a touch into my roots.

Hi!

My name is Suh, 서, and glad to meet you in this cyber space.

I guess you are the only contemporary living person here in the thread of South Korean.
So, if you are still alive, make a sound!:D

I feel like hearing from a dead man!
I came here seemingly a long ago and tried to revive seemingly the dead thread but didn't seem to get it working until now.

Thank you for responding to my call for the dead.

I started a thread to teach Korean to whoever wish to learn and wills to teach me English, and I got a student just today, the same day you returned from being dead!:sorry:

Can I also make you to be my student?
I think you could use a little bit of correction from me just for you to become Mr. perfect!

Like or not, agree or not, here is a lesson for you.

나는 미국 사람
안이지만 ; 않 이 고 is better

용 Dragon 국 country? Hmm...maybe Chinese? They love dragon, even worship it as a god.
If 영 국, then, you are British.

사람 입미다. 아직 서을에서
이를 ; 일 을 when you write, 이를 when you read.
하고 있어요

What kind of work do you do?

I am a truck driver living in NYC.

Yep, I am British, working here as a contract manager on large projects.

I don't mind the corrections - welcome 'em indeed - but perfection is not that important to me, mostly I am struggling to speak and understand. Vocaublary is the main issue here.

But still, not bad for a waeguk, huh?

No, not that bad at all for a 왜국 사람, 히 히,ㅋ ㅋ.:D

To build up your vocabulary, you gotta read a lot, diligently flipping dictionary.

Do you do that?

Instead of typing the Korean sound in English, type the words in Korean.
That is what I do to learn English.
I also listen to radio talk shows or news when I drive my truck for delivery.
Participating in a Korean forum is another way to learn.
But, be careful, because some people talk real bad, or in poor Korean, if not broken.

By the way, what do you think about the mad cow disease among Korean people with candles?
I think something going mad over there, which I don't quite get it.

What is your unbiased opinion on the beef in doubt or confusion?

ps, I forgot to add my opinion

On the beef issue, I think it has been grossly distorted in the Korean media and there is some talk of action against a TV station for deliberately misinforming the populace.

300 million people in USA, including nearly 3 million Koreans/Korean Americans, have been eating beef with no problem.

The real problem could be Korean beef which is largely untested.

Of course, the beef panic has also obscured the presence of AI in the country, about which some do worry with more justification.

What worries me most is the radical people and their thinking that are the driving force behind the radical movement, called '촛 불 시 위 '.
Just like the radical liberal in the USA, or like crusade, they justify their action with justification that is justice only for them.

It burns like a fire, but, after burning down whatever is to burn, nothing but destruction is left behind.
So sad.

Funny how overboard they people tend to go in the ROK.

Do people still cut fingers off and commit suicide over the Laincourt Rocks?

Here in Japan, they just... don't care, though some people are very preoccupied with "protecting" Japan's reputation of being a peaceful nation by blatantly lying about their history. It's akin to the German government denying the holocaust.
