"He that winneth souls is WISE" (Proverbs 11:30) Daniel 12:3 says: "And they that be WISE shall shine...as the stars for ever and ever."

Oh how foolish we are! We go to Church and sing hymns like, "Rescue the Perishing", yet we do nothing to rescue anyone. We sing, "Throw out the Life-line", while the only thing we throw out is our opportunity to lead a lost one to Jesus. We sing, "More Love to Thee, O Christ", and yet we do nothing to show our love for Him. We do not obey His commandments to love one another, and to pray for one another, and to go forth and BEAR FRUIT!

I Corinthians 2:9 says, "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him". Do we really understand what this is saying? Even the description of Heaven and what it will be like is not the end of what he has for us; That is, those who LOVE Him!

Do we love Him? Do we love Him enough to obey Him? Do we love Him enough to have an understanding of what is Holy, and to fear Him?

Where is the Wisdom in soul winning?

Psalms 111:10: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.”

Proverbs 9:10 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”

The wisdom is in the fear of the Lord and obedience to His command. At least that is a good starting place.

Absolutely. It seems as though we have gotten too comfortable in our churches to remember Christ's last command before He left.

Christ asked Peter 3 times if he loved Him. Each time he answered to feed his sheep - and we're too busy stuffing ourselves...

They will know we are Christians by our love. Where did our love go? Why are we keeping it in?

Yes Scott! Indeed! And if we have this love inside us, the Love of Christ, how can we NOT share the good news? In fact, in II Corinthians 5:14, we are told "For the love of Christ constraineth us;". That means we cannot help ourselves. We MUST share the news. This love forces us to.

Indeed, where IS that love today? It doesn't seem to be in the hearts of a lot of "Christians".

One thing is for sure: "That which is dearest in our hearts will be most upon our lips."

Gerry isn’t there a crown for soul winning.
I am sure that I have heard a sermon years ago about all the different crowns that we are going to receive in heaven to put it at the feet of Jesus. If there is, I would love to know the scripture.

This thread did not last to long when it was begun not long ago. I am sorry it did notdraw more participation because there is so much that makes soul winning wise, beyond what was posted here so far. To those who wonder into this forum and see this thread may I say, delve into the wisdom of soul winning on your own, and it will be a blessing to your soul.

Soul Winning. It is something I feel I am being called to do but as of yet I lack the skills to be able to do it effectively. Really I guess it is something that EVERY christian should be doing in some respect.

We have been given a wonderful gift and why should we deny others the chance to experience what we have?

Both pioneer and Network evangelism is relevant to those willing to win souls for Christ! I suggest looking those areas up!

    God Bless
