...and disaster happens, the sky falls, etc. - at least that's what Hussein's running around attempting to scare America and his constituency will occur -- and thousands will lose their jobs, and industries will shut down, government agencies will close, services dropped, "disabled children will be hurt," "abused women will be hurt," (per the Wash Times) and yada, and yada, and yada (makes you want to puke, actually) - NEVERMIND we're not going to be spending ANY LESS MONEY on government than we did before (just not as much more as the Dems would like)...

Soooo, if Hussein's right and not spending MORE money on government will result in the utter calamity he's whining about...

...doesn't that suggest we're already TOO dependent on government?. If spending AS MUCH - and then some, but not AS MUCH as the Dems would like - how self-sufficient a people are we, really?

A great point was made earlier that if the calamity Hussein's running around predicting will occur in fact does not occur, then major egg will be on the Dem's faces - so they're actually BANKING on calamity to save face. (Gotta love the "party of compassion"...)

Obama is actually trying to ensure that sequestration is as painful to the general public as possible.
Actually, the GOP dominated Congress will have it be as painful as possible to the public because they just don't gave a darn! That and the crocodile-eyed crying Mr. Boehner doesn't want to lose his job.

The Senate, House and President all signed off on this deal. Obama is probably overstating it while Boehner, et al, are likely understating it.

Uh the Senate is part of Congress, last I checked the Senate was under the control of the Democrats.

Yup. Since Obama took office, the GOP has been more concerned with political points than doing anything for the country. Heck, their senate leader's number one priority was defeating Obama. Not creating jobs, not cutting spending, not getting the country back on track; number one priority was an election.

That tells you all you need to know about the GOP: to heck with the country if there's political opportunity.

Remember why sequestration happened in the first place. GOP wouldn't raise the Debt limit causing us to come close to default and getting the credit rating lowered. Sequestration was meant to give them motivation to get a budget passed or have it automatically pass with all these harsh cuts.

...Those darn GOP, wanting to keep our debt from growing, and growing, and growing...

...But note nevertheless - WHOSE idea sequestration was --- and which party *still* doesn't have a budget. ;)

How dare those evil Republicans stand up and ask us to take some financial responsibility for our future? It's laughable that Obama wants people to think the sky will fall and planes will crash to the ground if the Sequester goes through. Taking $85 billion out of trillions of dollars is like taking a bucket of water out of the ocean: it won't make a dent.

The left is doing what they always do: resorting to scare tactics and doomsday promises if they don't get their way. All they know how to do is whine and throw money at a problem. Neither has provided a solution.

Soooo.... if Hussein's correct and Sequester occurs...

I'll put my money on Hussein - the Republican/Tea party seems to forget that he won both the popular and the electoral college vote by substantial margins in the 2012 Presidential Election - just 4 months ago.

A recent Pew Poll shows that 66% of the electorate thinks that the "sequester" will hurt the economic recovery, with 45% blaming the Republicans, as opposed to 32% pointing their fingers at the President.
