Embassy relocation would mean 'assassinating' peace process, Palestinians say

    Hi all,

The present administration is considering going ahead with moving the American embassy to Jerusalem from its current location in Tel Aviv. I can imagine a scenario where such an event could work itself into being the prophesied event from the Scriptures of the Anti-Christ, the seven year treaty and so forth.

Please understand that I'm not in anyway making a claim that it is. I'm just saying that its a current event that believers should keep an eye on. More than likely nothing will come of it and the person in charge will merely continue the practice of the last 40 years of extending the waiver.

    God bless,
    In Christ, ted

As they say 'time will tell.' Jared Kushner is making waves in the ME with productive talks with Gulf States. It seems team Trump will launch it's ME peace initiative soon:

Trump: Jared Kushner could broker Middle East peace

So is this the 'peace' of "confirm a covenant with many" from Daniel 9:27?

President Trump has pretty much let his son-in-law run this ME peace deal. Do we really know who Jared Kushner is?

    Hi RLH,

I certainly don't. I haven't done any investigating beyond what has been reported here and there on his work with his FIL. However, I am mindful that the Scriptures seem to tell us that the whole world will follow after or, my word, 'fawn' over this supposed person who makes the peace agreement. In that, I don't think that Jared Kushner would be the person.

But yes, time will tell. Let's just keep our eyes and ears open to what's going on. It could well be that 4-5 years from now we're still looking for the signs. Of course, it also could be that this movement of the embassy might only be the beginning of what then becomes a major battle in the ME, as the article seems to allude to, but that the actual peace agreement doesn't come about for several years yet.

    God bless you,

    Hi phil,

Oh, I agree completely. Which is why this is something that we should keep an eye on. If this happens, it's likely to start another rash of suicide bombings and other bombings and raids and attacks and that will be exactly what is needed for the world to start clamoring for peace. Peace! Peace! When there is no peace.

From what I've been reading about Mr. Kushner, he has pretty much hitched his wagon to this idea that he and his FIL can bring about peace in the ME. If he's as tenacious as his FIL in achieving goals, then I don't see it as a far fetched idea that they won't, at some point down the road, offer some sort of peace negotiation or treaty.

One thing we have to be careful of is trying to define the words of the Scriptures in ways that we understand today versus how they may have been intended in the original Hebrew. Daniel writes that he will confirm a 'covenant' with many for one seven. What exactly is meant by 'covenant' we will have to figure out. Would it necessarily be a written out formal treaty of some kind, or, can it be merely a spoken promise?

I mean, can it be as simple as just someone who is involved with some peace negotiations to say to Israel, "Look, we'll promise our support of your borders for the next seven years as this works its way through so that if things do go south on us in the next couple of years, your borders will be protected. After the seven years, then everything should be pretty well established and you shouldn't need us anymore. But we'll revisit the issue at that time. So, if you'll just give up this part of your country that the Palestinians want and sit back and enjoy some peace for awhile, we'll step in if someone tries to attack you now that you're country is sooooo much smaller." Then, voile'! In the middle of the seven years of promise that support is withdrawn and all the nations of the ME rise up against Israel to destroy her. That would be the time for the Lord to return. For God to continue His protection for His people and the land of promise.

This, of course, is just an imaginary scenario. However, it would be in keeping with the prophesies of the last days.

    God bless you,
    In Christ, ted
