This section of the website is open to Christians and non-Christians. Why are you here debating with the non-Christians?

There is a large area of this forum where non-Christians are not allowed to post.

I am glad to see you in the trenches on this side of the fence. Blessings!

Many atheists and Theist Evo's are here to discuss the theory of evolution. Some are here to defend the evidence against the PRATT's regularly shoveled from the Creationist talking heads, such as Dr. Dino and AiG.

Some may be here seeking understanding and a relationship with Christ.

    Blessings!

Yeah, that whole "objective evidence" bunk that we keep asking for. Who would ever look for the truth through evidence? How crazy!!!!!

We all know that it is just better to see what someone else has written and accept is as true without any evidence whatsoever. Surely such an approach will never lead to false beliefs.

So, you'll understand if we take the answer to your little B.C. question with a grain of salt. After all, we wouldn't wanna fall for diabolical mimicry. ;)

The law of God is very real. You have to follow the Golden Ratio or Gravity and the other natual forces will destory you. If you want to put a roof on your house then you have to get someone that knows how to design a roof. You do not want that roof to fall on you. If you want to build the twin towers then they will have to be able to withstand a commerical jet plane hitting them. If that is not a part of the design, then expect that they will fail and fall.

Do you need to understand God to know the natural laws? It helps. According to Murphys law if it can go wrong it will. So the better you understand how things work, then the less of a chance you will have of something going wrong. Did you ever notice that some of the Greek Building from over 2,000 years ago are still standing? There is a reason why they have stood up to gravity all of this time.

In China thousands of school children were killed in last year’s building collapses during an earthquake. So you can build a school, but that school has to be able to stand up to the forces of nature. You can not be spending all your money trying to repair a building that is slowly falling down on you because you did not understand the natural laws and how to build a school building.

Just out of curiosity, in your neck of the woods, have you ever come across any tree stumps, burnt from the center outward?

I'm sorry, I seem to have missed how you connect natural laws with God.

So you're saying that ancient greeks worshipped Jesus? Or that we all need to worship the greek gods to understand natural laws as well as they did?

and a lot of the Bible is NOT supported by any evidence.

Really? Laughed? I think more like wondered if indeed they did.

Ton. Why is it all the people who try to support the Bible can't spell for crap? Is it because basically they're ignorant? Is that why they can't get the concept of how a James Bond novel is set in London and London is real that doesn't mean James Bond is real. Just because the Red Sea is real doesn't mean that Moses parted it.

Why shouldn't it? It was written in the time when those places were fully active towns and villages. You obviously still don't get the reality that a place being real doesn't mean the things that the Bible claims happened IN it are real.

Once again a so-called "Christian" completely missing the point.

ummm...everything in the museums (British Museum included) are secular and not what's being disputed. That's like saying since owls exist in zoos, and London is a place, then everything in Harry Potter is true also. This has been mentioned previously in this thread.

In order to prove that "Everything in the Bible is supported by secular history/archaeology", you would need to show evidence of the actual supernatural claims, not the secular or natural items. To the best of my knowledge, no evidence of this nature exists.

Granted, I've never been to the British Museum and you're the expert, so I'm sure you'll be able to provide just one example of supernatural biblical archaeological evidence (out of the hundreds you mentioned) from their extensive collection.

The British Museum contains no artefacts that substantiate Eden (unless there is a botanical section with the Forbidden Tree?), the Flood (unless the Ark has been relocated from Mt. Ararat to London?), Balaam's talking donkey (unless its bones, complete with primate trachea, are stored there?), etc. The Bible, like all works of myth, is undoubtedly rooted in real events, but they are exaggerated to include supernatural elements. As such, we should expect to find only evidence for the mundane, but not the supernatural (hence why we find evidence for Pharaoh's and Egypt, but not for the splitting of the Red Sea). Lo and behold, that's exactly what we find.

    The Christ is worshiped.

Worshiping the first cause under every appellation given is redundancy.

So you don't worship Jesus, you worship the ancient Greek pantheon. Gotcha

So you can prove with evidence that snakes talk, donkeys talk, Adam was a real person, Jesus actually existed and walked on water then rose from the dead...

Please, continue o' not ignorant one.
