Something I feel I should mention...

Dear Christian crew and members,

Something’s been put on my heart and I feel that I should share it with all of you. Lately I haven’t been myself, basically I’ve been hurt over the web for what I believe in and how I believe in it, maybe turned down would be a better way of describing it. See, a few weeks ago I stopped really putting my trust in God, I stopped praying, I knew that he was out there but I lost all connection… I was putting my friends and what they thought of me first and wanted to sort of fit in with the online crowd, I guess you could say I was hurt…

One day I said a little prayer when I was finally getting myself back together again and prayed that God would put a Christian forum in my place because I left the other one I was signed up to. A couple of days later I did a Google search and came across this one and signed up and I’ve learned allot since being here. Right now I’m lurking and learning how to post rather then jumping right into the fray of things but it sure does pay off to be around Christian friends. An example: I’ve learned that listening to dark music isn’t really cool and isn’t glorifying to our Lord, I’d listen to Led Zeppelin allot not knowing that it really was bad, I’ve stopped and am listening to more Christian music then ever, and I’d just like to say thank you to everybody around here, and thanks be to God as well for turning my life back around, it’s a real blessing to be around this place and to have really friendly and neat members.

It is easy to get hurt when discussing differences in doctrine, because we are all so emotionally attached to God and our beliefs about him. We love him so much we don't want anyone to damage our image of him, of course. Sometimes it is painful to have your beliefs tested, but I find after the sting goes away, I come back a stronger Christian. I pray that will always happen for all of us here.

I think we all go through times where we seem to be so distant from God. It is hard sometimes having the differences of doctrine but we are connected to God through his blood he shed for us. We should always care about each other reguadless of differences of doctrine the one thing Christians shoul always agree on is that Jesus is the only way. No other way will get us to heaven.

It can be trying to argue doctrine, that is for sure. I try to always remember though that as long as the people I am arguing with have the same basic beliefs about Christianity, most importantly that their faith in Christ has saved them and Christ is the only way to God, then they are my brothers and sisters and if we argue it should not effect our love and support of each other in this ever darkening world.
