Preterism, even historicism doesn't make sense. Preterist changed the dating of several New Testament books to support it. It just makes no sense that Mathew 24 and the entire book of Revelation would be fulfilled in AD70. Where else in Scripture (other than the parallel passages in Mark and Luke) do you find the expression "this generation" referring to a future generation?The context of the chapter MUST be understood as an answer to this three part question, and NOT ONLY the stones falling.
1. When will these things be. (not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.)
2. What will be the sign of thy coming/parousia/return.
3. What will be the sign of the end of the world. (consummation of the age or completion of all prophecies.)
"Verse 33-34 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled."
Jesus uses the word 'THIS.' THIS is also translated "THE SAME." Meaning THE SAME generation that sees and endures the events and conditions he previously spoke about between verses 3-32. It's THE GENERATION on earth during the time of his return and nothing else. NOT the generation he is speaking to!
"Even so, this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled."
The word 'likewise' is the same as saying 'even so' or 'so thus'...
It connects what Jesus previously said between verses 4-31, to what Jesus said about, “this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.” That alone debunks the idea that Mathew 24 was meant for the generation of 70 AD.

Proved by the fact the Disciples do not see the signs Jesus mentioned. Just like most Bible prophecy, Ezekiel 20:49: had the same problem. But WE will see it all.
I was born in 1941, on this day, so I'm 76 today. So the proviso of: if my strength holds, Psalms 90:10, applies to me.
I will be 89 when Jesus Returns 2000 years after He commenced His ministry in 29/30AD. As He prophesied in Luke 13:32.

But the rest of what He and all the other prophets said would happen, has not yet. The fact of the early Christians fleeing to the mountains, being literally fulfilled, makes it certain that all the; so far unfulfilled prophesies, will also be literally fulfilled.
To think it won't be, is just 'head in the sand' attitude.
