I don't know. I just don't believe that.Makes sense if you understand it. So many people have interpreted it completely wrongly.
Check out Don Preston on YouTube or from his site. He explains everything beautifully
Preterism, even historicism doesn't make sense. Preterist changed the dating of several New Testament books to support it. It just makes no sense that Mathew 24 and the entire book of Revelation would be fulfilled in AD70. Preterism is ONE BIG BLUNDER.It wouldn't make sense if it already happen...none of that makes sense....what are you talking about...
It really does not make sense. OoOkkk. Whoever said that doesn't know what they are talking about..Preterism, even historicism doesn't make sense. The Church was established from day one. The day of Pentecost. Before the church was established spiritual gifts were administered only to certain individuals hand picked by God.
No it wasn't. Pentecost empowered the church to establish it and lay its foundation. You don't have to be so snide. You can participate in this discussion without the usual derogatory comments. The Church was established from day one. The day of Pentecost.
And as usual you display your immense ignorance of everything ...
Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:Pentecost empowered the church to establish it and lay its foundation.
Where else in Scripture (other than the parallel passages in Mark and Luke) do you find the expression "this generation" referring to a future generation? The context of the chapter MUST be understood as an answer to this three part question, and NOT ONLY the stones falling.
1. When will these things be. (not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.)
2. What will be the sign of thy coming/parousia/return.
3. What will be the sign of the end of the world. (consummation of the age or completion of all prophecies.)
"Verse 33-34 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled."
Jesus uses the word 'THIS.' THIS is also translated "THE SAME." Meaning THE SAME generation that sees and endures the events and conditions he previously spoke about between verses 3-32. It's THE GENERATION on earth during the time of his return and nothing else. NOT the generation he is speaking to!
"Even so, this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled."
The word 'likewise' is the same as saying 'even so' or 'so thus'...
It connects what Jesus previously said between verses 4-31, to what Jesus said about, “this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.” That alone debunks the idea that Mathew 24 was meant for the generation of 70 AD.
VINES...Likewise...
Even (Adverb, Etc.), Even As, Even So:
a conjunction, is usually a mere connective, meaning "and;" it frequently, however, has an ascensive or climactic use, signifying "even," the thing that is added being out of the ordinary, and producing a climax. The determination of this meaning depends on the context.
So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
You would be hard pressed convincing me and many others that those events HAVE PASSED!
The destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple have happened during their lifetime...during that -[their]- generation.Where else in Scripture (other than the parallel passages in Mark and Luke) do you find the expression "this generation" referring to a future generation?
The disciples must have been quite miffed when they eventually realized that Christ hadn't been referring to anything relevant to themselves at all.
I completely agree. But Hal A Peno doesn't.The destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple have happened during their lifetime...during that -[their]- generation.
Actually its quite simple to understand, that Jesus meant the generation that saw the fig tree sign, Judah back into the holy Land: the people born since then, would see it all. Matthew 24:32-34Where else in Scripture (other than the parallel passages in Mark and Luke) do you find the expression "this generation" referring to a future generation?

Happy Birthday and God's blessings, keras.Actually its quite simple to understand, that Jesus meant the generation that saw the fig tree sign, Judah back into the holy Land: the people born since then, would see it all. Matthew 24:32-34
Proved by the fact the Disciples do not see the signs Jesus mentioned. Just like most Bible prophecy, Ezekiel 20:49: had the same problem. But WE will see it all.
I was born in 1941, on this day, so I'm 76 today. So the proviso of: if my strength holds, Psalms 90:10, applies to me.
I will be 89 when Jesus Returns 2000 years after He commenced His ministry in 29/30AD. As He prophesied in Luke 13:32.
I look forward with great anticipation to living in the holy Land, preparing for that glorious Day. See you'all there! Zechariah 8:1-8
Yes, the early Church did take Jesus advice in 70 AD and escaped to safety in Pella.God was faithfully preserving His New Testament "remnant" Church.
Yes, the early Church did take Jesus advice in 70 AD and escaped to safety in Pella.
But the rest of what He and all the other prophets said would happen, has not yet. The fact of the early Christians fleeing to the mountains, being literally fulfilled, makes it certain that all the; so far unfulfilled prophesies, will also be literally fulfilled.
To think it won't be, is just 'head in the sand' attitude.
Ephesians 2:19-20 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

CHURCH > G1577 ἐκκλησία ekklēsia
From a compound of G1537 and a derivative of G2564; a calling out, that is, (concretely) a popular meeting, especially a religious congregation (Jewish synagogue, or Christian community of members on earth or saints in heaven or both): - assembly, church.
That's us both then and now - like I wrote from day one.
The Church began on the day of Pentecost.
It isn't fulfilled because you said so. Want to put it up tp a debate on another thread? All fulfilled my friend. Jesus won. E

I don't need to look it up, I probably know as much about it as you.Look up preterism or partial preterism. I believe 99% of Revelation has been and gone.
