If they're successful and the police are not funded, how in the world do they propose to maintain law and order?

Defunding the police does not mean taking away all of their funding. They’re pushing for the re-allocation of funds towards programs committed to improving education, housing, healthcare, etc. Currently the US has an extreme budget commitment towards the military, police, prisons, guns and we have seen the disproportionate attention within these last several weeks when the government was unable to provide bare minimum PPE or set up testing centers for WEEKS, but within days they deployed thousands of military personnel to the streets to quell protests. It’s unnecessary and quite frankly ineffective. US spending habits do not make the country safer, and we’ve seen how the police are utterly incapable of doing their job even with such high funding. Defunding the police is a conversation surrounding what reforms need to be made that don’t concern giving law enforcement more ammunition.

They want lawlessness. Which is exactly what the extreme left and right want.

Before coming here as a refugee all she knew were armed factional militias. I guess she is taking a bit of her 'home' and sharing it with her district.

I know - and it's disheartening. The Democrat Party is showing their true colors. I just hope and pray people realize this.

What gets me is that their "platform" has been a bunch of bald-faced lies for over 50 years now - everyone they pretend to want to help is VASTLY worse off because of their policies. They've helped precisely no one. All they care about is power, nothing more. Their voting bloc is largely just a tool - and sadly, I don't think they realize how they're being used, even today.
