Given that there were Gentiles who had converted to Judaism (involving circumcision) and that most of Pauls Gentile converts to Jesus came from the synagogue (i.e, God-fearers), I believe these 'false' brothers were Gentile converts to Judaism (though not believers in Christ) who had infiltrated Paul's groups to check the status of Paul's converts (were they circumcised or not?) This would fit with Act 15:1 in which some claimed that Gentiles had to be circumcised and obey the Law of Moses (i.e. become converts to Judaism) to be saved.

On another related thread, the OP asserts that Sunday is not holy. The same poster also believes there is only one truth and every question is either/or. Thus, if Sunday is not holy, it must be wicked, which is the antonym of holy.

Is Sunday the most wicked day of the week or are all the other five days (excluding the Sabbath, of course) equally wicked?

Problem is that righteousness was never by the OT.

I mean to say " righteousness by the law" as written by Moses and all the prophets (OT).

No one is disputing that. It never was by keeping the Law.

Text proves that Israel did seek righteousness by keeping the law.
Rom 9:31But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.

This does not negate the Law as a lifestyle for God's people. Go down just one more verse:

Luke 16:17 It is easier for heaven and earth to pass than for one tittle of the law to lose authority.

Jesus own words. Heaven and earth have not passed. The law still has authority.

You cant have it both ways Steve. Now you're trying to prove that all are under the law.
