I walk past this statue often and I've always wondered which saint (?) this is a depiction of.

Generally the Sky-blue cloak is a giveaway for Mary. This is said to be because blue colouring used to be very expensive, made from ground lapis lazuli, so it was a way to represent her as Queen of heaven.

Though, it may be more primordial, as blue dye was used to represent the mother goddess Tonantzin of Meso-America too, hence the immense role the Marian Apparition of Our Lady of Gaudalupe played in helping to convert the natives to Christianity.
